Any ideas/info if this new version of Nexus will be more CPU hungry? I have read that the previous Nexus's versions have been very light on CPU.

Awesome update. And free for me :clown: :P
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Should be pretty much the exact same. Most of the changes are GUI only. There are a few DSP changes, like splitting the FX out of the layers in to FX groups. This can actually lower CPU because now you can route several layers into 1 fx group instead of needing the fx duplicated for each layer.

Can someone merge the 2 topics with this new title?

I considered buying this but it says you can get 10 expansions but they are the most recently released 10 expansions, completely unconnected with musical style! What? Have I misread that, because not being able to choose based on what your style of music is but rather simply decided for you based when a particular exp was released is ridiculous?

I found this video showing a bit how to work with Nexus 4.5.
Useful, thanks.

One thing I don't understand - in the SQ section at around 12 minutes, it shows 1 sample engine being broken out into 5 layers, each with different drum elements. It doesn't show that engine itself and how that works - can you just replace the snare? The whole kit? What?

Would be interesting to know. Maybe more info when it’s released to public?

you should write them and see if they will let you choose? Worst can happen is they can say no. I was thinking about that the other day myself.

Double post (can not find delete option?).

Anyways: I think Nexus has been in BF (or maybe it was Christmas) sales before. Interesting to see if this year since this new version was just released…

I was wondering the same. Would be nice to have even a demo and see/feel how the workflow really suits for own personal taste. It’s always different to see tutorial videos/walkthrough videos vs trying it yourself in your own DAW.

If they are afraid people steal the sounds, just offer the demo with only couple presets just to get feel of how nexus works.

to 4.0 was so dire I think reFX realised they had to up their game in order to survive
oh well... no, not really. Even if KVR was gone wild, N4 release was doing well in the normal world.
The reason for the 4.5 update is quite simple:
It was never meant to stop at 4.0... then pause until 5.0...
no, further updates were of course planned... and it was clear, that a N4 upgrader purchased the entire lifespan from 4.0 to 5.0.
(there were also a ton of 3.x updates)
Still no demo?
