Earlier tonight the developer did a live stream that lasted over 2 hours which was rather interesting. Very few DAW developers actually do this, but I posted a couple of questions, which were picked up. Both replies were rather revealing.
As for Ardour 7, Clip Launching is being worked on.

My questions were not about clip launching, though, but it's interesting to see how he plans to integrate it. Things didn't quite work out as he planned on the live stream in regard to that feature.
