Erin represents a state-of-the-art plug-in suite dedicated to mastering. It embodies the luxury mastering equipment as manufactured by one of the world's most prestigious and appreciated designers, who has been known since the early '70s for his innovative approach in the field of tube-based systems for the high-end, hi-fi market.

With this Erin update, and from release C001 onwards, you can now enjoy significant new features for better performance and sound quality.

What's new?

• Two new standalone plug-ins (ERIN 'Hyper' MONO COMP and ERIN 'Hyper' STEREO COMP).
• New 'Hyper' engine.
• New 'Hyper' Compressor/Brickwall limiter emulations.
• Less CPU consumption.
• Up to 16X oversampling (in ERIN 'Hyper' MONO COMP).
• Various optimizations and graphical improvements.
• Resizable interface for all of the plug-in suites.*

*Choose between 3 magnification values (1x - 1.5x - 2x) from the top right ▼SIZE drop-down menu.
Once the desired size is selected, the plug-in must be removed and re-loaded to apply the changes. This action affects the currently selected plug-in. New instances of the same plug-in will open with this magnification.

Erin (Release C001) includes two new plug-ins in addition to the three already present in previous releases, bringing the suite to a total of five plug-ins.

New! Erin 'Hyper' Mono Compressor

Image
Erin Hyper Mono compressor GUI

The Erin 'Hyper' Mono compressor and brickwall limiter are based on our new 'Hyper' compression technology.
The beating heart of this plug-in is undoubtedly the presence of two new brickwall limiters, the first more 'traditional' and the second more 'pioneering' in their conception, both created from analog dynamics processors and then converted to brickwall limiters, a relatively innovative feature for today's market which is characterized by a strong prevalence of limiters using (program dependent) digital releases.

Details:

1- Brickwall1: This is an emulation of a traditional brickwall limiter that does not allow transients to exceed the maximum limit when the input gain is set to maximum. Oversampling-rate function available ( 1x 2x 4x 8x 16x). Attack and SHMOD controls are not available in this mode.
2- Brickwall2: Is characterized by Erin's attack times and the release times of the U473 Ebony Compressor plug-in, a fixed ratio (static curve) derived from an iconic vari-mu vacuum-tube compressor. Unlike the more ‘traditionally’ designed Brickwall 1, Brickwall 2 is able, by adjusting the available attack and SHMOD controls, to achieve the desired volume while preserving the transients and dynamics of the track. Oversampling-rate function available ( 1x 2x 4x 8x 16x).
3- Comp: Is derived from the COMP mode of the ERIN STEREO COMPRESSOR but reworked with our 'Hyper' compression technology, resulting in a new and improved emulation. Oversampling-rate function available ( 1x 2x 4x 8x 16x).
4- UltraComp: Is derived from the ULTRACOMP mode of the ERIN STEREO COMPRESSOR but reworked with our 'Hyper' compression technology, resulting in a new and improved emulation. Oversampling-rate function available ( 1x 2x 4x 8x 16x).
5- UltraLim: Is derived from the ULTRALIM mode of the ERIN STEREO COMPRESSOR but reworked with our 'Hyper' compression technology, resulting in a new and improved emulation. Oversampling-rate function available ( 1x 2x 4x 8x 16x).

New! Erin 'Hyper' Stereo Compressor

We have taken Erin Stereo Compressor to a new level by using our 'Hyper' compression tech. This new 'Hyper' tube compressor/limiter includes four new powerful 'hyper' compressor emulations giving a faster and more accurate compression with less CPU consumption.

Erin's previous modules are still available in the suite and receive the CPU optimizations and the resizable interface.

New Hyper engine

Our standard compressors run at 22kHz regardless of sample rate or oversampling; this implies that the reduction, attack, and release curves are not calculated for every sample but for every 'n' samples, where 'n' depends on the sample rate.
For example, on fast transients, the input level is evaluated correctly; however, the reduction is calculated after 'n' samples, so the signal containing the transient is not compressed in time, and the transient "escapes" compression.

This new Hyper compression tech calculates the amount of compression and the attack and release curves at each sample, so compression is applied immediately and no longer after 'n' samples.
The speed of these new compressors can be further increased by oversampling while keeping the power consumption at 1/12th of our standard compressors.

Nice to see advancements in Acustica's products with the new 'Hyper' engine. Looking forward to more efficient products.

(It also would nice to see Acqua channel strips with pan controls (if this was available on the sampled hardware), along with a bus/channel interaction with crosstalk, etc. Similar to Airwindows Console and Presonus MixFX.

Also, it would be nice to see N4 libraries with chirp/ripple revised. Along with improvements in Aquarius for easier multiple select install/remove/unauthorization/Uninstall all, etc using Ctrl and shift.)
Is materialism devouring your musical output? :ud:

Very, very good. Erin eq was already one of my favs, but now the compressor has also become incredibly good.

But please change the link controls. Many have asked this from the beginning, would have expected it to be changed with this new version.

But even then. Damn, if this is the way that all AA compressors gonna be from now on, there's no competition in algo's.
More BPM please

Thank you! PLease keep an eye on the updates section in Aquarius
