The Nugen Focus bundle upgrade is on sale at the moment and I was wondering about people's experience with it and possible alternatives. I like their interface design and the functionality seems very good but I have no great expertise in this type of tech but at the bundle price it could be worth it to me.
Example alternatives - BOOM Recentre seems to overlap with some but not all of Monofilter

I have them and have been using them for a few years. Stereoizer is my most used - it can help to create an effective musical stereo image around a narrower source or act as a soundstage enhancer on stereo sources. It takes some work to dial it in however and doesnt work well on all sources. Monofilter is a good low end monoizer. It's one of a few I use. I use Monofilter when I am looking for a less coloured monoization, it has some good phase algos in it. I don't use stereoplacer too much because I dont need this function very often. PA also has a tool that does this as well.
Alternatives:
Stereoizer: melda has a suite of good stereoization tools, Leapwing Stageone, Mathew Lane DrMS
Monofilter: BOZ Mongoose, PA monoizers built into some of their products, Leapwing Centreone, Raising Jake Sideminder, Mathew Lane DrMS
Stereoplace: bx paneq, zplane peel

In general I find the Nugen Focus products to be a good alternative for the functions they support and worth having in the toolbox. If you dont have these kinds of tools then the Nugen bundle is a good option because they are high quality sounding plugins in the realm of their functionality.
The full versions of the 3 tools is even better because they offer more parameters and hence more ability to tailor the result. It would be a sound decision (pun) to get the Focus bundle, get used to them, and consider the full versions in a future upgrade sale.

thanks. I do have the Focus Elements bundle, it is the upgrade to the full versions I am thinking of doing. 40% off at the moment. Pretty much sold on doing it. Just looked at the bx_paneq video and it is only $20 but does not have the sort of precision / applicaton I am looking for. Looks neat as a creative effect when automated tho and a good buy at $20plexuss wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:21 pm In general I find the Nugen Focus products to be a good alternative for the functions they support and worth having in the toolbox. Is it the $84USD upgrade to full? so $28 each. Yeah, thats worth the added functionality on each of them as long as you use them or you have GAS. It's a good upgrade either way IMHO
