Did not have the time to test or demo yet, but coming from Sugar Bytes I'm pretty sure it's quality stuff, going to be a pretty hot one (and very glitchy I'm sure ) and appreciated by alot.
Since I haven't seen any thread about it, well there you go.

Shouldn't it be in the instruments forum?

It's an effect. It can be used for granular synthesis and played with MIDI, but the main thing it does is process incoming audio.

Exactly.
Straight from website product page, the first line: "Graindad is a granular effect for high quality realtime audio manipulation. Freeze, texturize or reorganize & slice your audio, triggered by transients, clocks or MIDI notes."

I was able to produce something with it. This is a drum machine (Beat Scholar) and a bass synth (RPapen SubBoomBass2). The synth has a Graindad on it. The drums are split off into 4 tracks: dry, left, right, centre. Each of left right centre has its own Graindad. Each Graindad has a separate factory preset. I automated the mix. It's just nonesense but shows some capability. I haven't dug into the engines or done any programming yet...
(streaming track on bandcamp. I'm going to stop using SoundCloud.)
This is all glitchy presets. Graindad can do much more however. I haven't got to programming it. Just flip through this to hear different glitcht effects. Still pretty useful/cool....

My impression from a distance is this really cool. I'm not using granular effects much, and have been very happy with RIBS for the occasions when I do. If that ever changes though, this will be on the shortlist to check out.
Totally unrelated to the plugin itself: Not so long ago, that trailer video would've blown everyone's frickin minds. Even today's standards I feel like that's a bit overkill for a plug-in release trailer. But probably animation like this has gotten so much cheaper to do that this is in fact a sensible level of ambition for the context. Or they wouldn't have done it I guess. Tech sure is advancing...

Looks good. I really love Sugar Bytes and their experimental attitude towards everything.

not usually, maybe not ever.
iirc they generally take the bundle upgrade off the site if a big sale is on though you can send them an email to get a price.

like it, bought it,.....i was allready broke. But who cares. they deserved it. oh well
its nothing like any other granular tool i had.
the linked demos do show "some aspects" of it.
my first jamm was for example completly different than any of these takes.
what i rapidly noted: its allways ( well, mostoften) very musical.
this will make noobs sound like pro´s when it comes to make "good" glitchy tracks.
( not the usual " clickbait everybodys mind" stuff* (*read: crap...ymmv) )
i could even just jamm with it, and it often soundet like tracks
probably a gamechanger for some types of production
( while i´m not into production work myself. just creating "nice" realtime-play patches, and jamm with it)
