Will there be an option for formant control in the new spectral module? Or is it not possible with this kind of synthesis.
It works really well in the IL Harmor additive synth

no, the formants can not be controlled, this would cost way too much CPU, when playing more than 1 note

Post

"this would cost too much cpu" seems to be the generic reason stayed for why features aren't included, even in cases where it doesn't seem to make sense.

Post

your statement is partially correct. Costing too much CPU is indeed a thing during development, and the reason why some features wont be implemented. We had so much ideas during develpment (and still have), but current computer generation couldnt handle this all, so we discarded many features and had to find a balance.

Manuel, On the fact of "We had so much ideas during develpment (and still have), but current computer generation couldnt handle this all, so we discarded many features and had to find a balance." Couldn't you also implement features that require a lot of CPU, etc., and in the case then have a button that removes them on PCs that are underperforming?

Post

you cant remove synthesis and/or features inside a program with a button. Presets, which use these features wont load anymore or sound completely strange. This wouldnt make sense, sorry.

Any hope for NKS?

Does it still use 700mb RAM for the init patch?

A very useful effect! :tu:

Yup, envelope follower looking and sounding good!

So - I'm about to spoil the thread - how much do people think the upgrade should be?

Vengeance has a bit of an issue here. The recent sale of v1 for £85 means that psychologically people may baulk at a reFX style upgrade price of $99. Maybe adding a free XP of your choice would tip people over the edge though?

(I was just writing elsewhere that general economic woes must be making things very challenging for developers right now).

Super exciting with Env follower FX
I love the function in IL Harmor where you can drag an audio loop, for example drums into the envelope window, and then it creates an envelope that matches the audio loop.
Looks like you can achieve almost the same effect here :tu:

Well, since I just purchased it, I think the upgrade price for me should be zero. I get the economic woes but there should be some consideration for recent purchases. I am sure they have thought about this. I definitely would not pay for an upgrade unless it was super cheap even though I appreciate the additional features unless it, at the very least, came with some expansion library choices.

Did you buy it for £85 in the sale? Why should that give you the right to have all the new stuff for free that the rest of us will pay full-whack for? (asking for a friend).
