V-Station skin/resize

Hello. I made a "skin" for this old boi and wanted to share it. It´s not actually a new skin but a resize of the old one. I wanted to keep everything as close to the original skin as possible but I had to make a bigger background , knobs and faders.
The GUI is now 20% bigger. Good enough for my 24" 1080p monitor. I hope you find it useful.

Extract the rar and copy the content of "Resources" folder into C:\Program Files\Novation\V-Station\Resources and replace everything.

Crazy (idiotic) suggestion: Why not send it to Novation? Maybe the'y're interested in implementing it. They announced that development is ceased, but, you never know. I don't know how much work it was for you, but, if it's relatively trivial to implement it (as I see it only replaces the original graphic files), there might be a chance.

Thanks for sharing this skin. It is a bit more comfortable size on a 1080P screen.

I never knew the skin files were available for the end user to edit.

However here there seems to be some misalignment with the Mixer knob section:

EDIT: OK changing the Y value to 66 in the .xml file for the Mixer knob fixes the misalignment and I'm sure similar adjustments to the other knobs will as well so do you want to do that or would you like me to fix them?

And it makes me more surprised that Novation never addressed this on their own!! They could have offered a few different GUI sizes in individual folders and updated the code to point to one of those folders via a menu selection.

Hmmm you're right, I never noticed that before and I've owned it for many years. V-Station is one of those synths I rarely if ever use mostly because it's too small for me at 1080P

Odd because changing the Y values fixes the misalignment so you'd think Novation would have noticed.

I managed to fix all the knobs except Ring 1'2. I can only find two entries for "Ring12 Level" and neither have X-Y coordinates attached to them. Maybe someone else could have a look.

It´s a good sugestion but I doubt Novation even cares about this product anymore. They did not even bother to fix the voices/MIDI indicators and LFO leds while they were charging money for this thing.
At least they made it easy to reskin. Prior to version 2.0 the GUI was inside the dll file.

Thats out of question. I would have to start over again. And at that size I cannot re-use any old (original) images like buttons , leds , etc because they would look way too small. I would have to make new ones again. And then move every knob , button , led , png , etc position inside the html config one by one. That´s pure torture.

However I can provide the knobs I made since they can be exported as .png at any size. If someone else wants to make a bigger version you can use these :

v-station knobs+fader.rar

You will need knobman to open those files.
