I'm very impressed so far with the Metasurface, now that I've had a chance to fiddle around with it a bit.
The concept is similar to the Melohman functions in Symptohm, but not aimed at keyboard players, and on a massive on scale. For live use, you could set up a contraption chain and improv within a well-governed set of defined states just by sliding one contol around.
I don't think I've seen anything out there exactly like this.
Very cool.
Cheers,
Steve

Just been messing around with the MetaSurface.
It's insanely brilliant and has just added a whole new layer of functionality to 'Mulch.
I definitely need a joystick now.

No midi control yet though. I'd hold off on the joystick until then.tetraplan wrote:Just been messing around with the MetaSurface.

A good mouse alternative would work. Live use of the metasurface seems like a great idea, and some kind of a controller that's a bit more exciting to look at then a mouse would be good. Like a giant touchpad or gyromouse or something.

Well, I'll get one anyway, I was going to get it for another program (I made up my mind about this two weeks ago but can't for the life of me remember which one).shamann wrote:No midi control yet though. I've seen some touchpad-based keyboard/mouse replacements a while ago, suggested as alternatives for the Lemur.A good mouse alternative would work. I really can't remember where. Pricey, but not excessively so.
I'll dive into my mailboxes.

Ah, found it.
I only know it from this site, so I have no idea how well this works.
No downloadable demo, either.
Fingerworks iGesture pad.
