If I put a Reverb/Delay, equipped with hpf and lpf, not on a send/return but at the end of an insert, if I then use its hpf/lpf does it affect the FX only or the whole signal?

Thank you in advance

the whole signal.

insert, is like putting a separate effect in between the synth and mixer channel.
send, is like adding it alongside.

unless you use the wet and dry obviously :)

Is the HPF/LPF built into the reverb/delay plugin?
If it is, and you are using a wet/dry mix in the plugin, then the filter should only affect the wet reverb/delay part of the signal.

If you have a separate HPF/LPF filter plugin in front of the reverb plugin, then it will filter the whole signal, regardless of your wet/dry settings in the reverb/delay plugin.

Reverb and delay are usually done as send effects for this reason, among others.

Yes, it's built-in https://www.liquidsonics.com/software/seventh-heaven/

Still not clear if affects the whole signal or not in that scenario 8)

Do you have the plugin?

If you can test it out, turn the wet/dry mix to 100% dry and use your ears.

The answer should be that the filter doesn’t affect it.

For a plugin which has either a wet/dry mix or independent level for wet/dry control, the DRY signal should be routed as described - a DRY signal not be affected by the effect in the plugin; it is expected to be the raw unadulterated signal. The sound of the effect should only be on the Wet signal.

Therefore, any filter option within a plugin should only be applied to the wet signal.

Them's the rules. Any deviation from these (by developers) is not acceptable.
