Yup- check my signature, I seem to have found sufficient reason to have most of them, even Renoise :D

If you can use Reaper you can use Studio One, Cubase, Logic etc the paradym is almost identical it's just personal preference after that. A new user will from that background will have to learn the FL 'way of working' and I found it quite hard personally, but then I am DAW hoping!

Only if they change those browser fonts! And that 'hole' under the rack always looks weird to me! (But a lot of people seem to set it up that way), I just have a top and a bottom half and switch between them- very long rack ;-)

Anyway, any theming is better than no theming, that for sure!

I played with Fruityloops in late 2000 when I took a year-long open-learning music course at home. I still used my PlayStation with Music 2000 back then to create music, even though I got my first AMD Athlon 750 PC in August of that year. Likewise, I found it strange that I could make more sense of Amiga-based Trackers and programs like Bar & Pipes than Fruityloops and make music with them. When I finished the course, I was given money to buy music software, and for that, I bought Reason 1.0. Who didn't want a full rack to play with back then?

it will have an overhauled browser

I like the design of the sample preview page of it 9:45

Thanks, lots of really useful features but for some reason I still find it ugly, something about those fonts/colours look game like, I know its superficial and I shouldn't care, but the overall look of FL (icons, fonts, drop down menus etc) just doesn't seem coherent to me.

PS- I also really like the by the side sample displays, very nice.

It's like a whole rack of synths!

I was an FL Studio user for 10 years and switched to Bitwig because it's better in nearly every way.

LOL. Care to explain the details behing "nearly every way?" I like Bitwig, especially the grid. But FL still is the way to go. And the FL21 betas confirmed me in that.

Do loops in the browser auto sync to project tempo during preview?

Honestly, you can't even begin to compare these tools...it's like comparing a hammer and a screwdriver. The do different things for different people making different types of music...I wouldn't use either for a recording of predominately live instruments...but for midi-based stuff and loop-based stuff or pattern-based stuff both work fine, just differently. If FL21 doesn't have normal linier track comping with track editing (no Eddison!) it won't be much use to main as a main DAW, but still fun for making pattern mased midi music.

One begs to differ...

I believe FL Studio has retrospective midi record & in house sample editors (for pitch correct/manipulation). Bitwig doesn’t offer these (unless those are now included in the latest update?)?

Bitwig has 100's of things that FL doesn't do well or at all, including excellent comping- you will go around the houses comparing feature X to feature Y, thye are different.

Use whatever you like 'I' wouldn't use either as I have Studio One and Melodye Studio...I have 32 live inputs for audio (12 for drums channels) and Studi One lends itself to that type of live recording and mixing more effectively than FL Studio 'in my opinion'. I am not saying it can't be done, just that I find it much easier in to record and mix audio in S1.
