If you mean by that, the disappearance of the Studio One thread, then no. That thread has been taken down temporarily and will be back soon.

No, not that. I see Ardour has clip launching now and you posted the video, so I thought maybe you finally found a DAW that has the features you want.

Ardour is now more advanced and innovative for live performances than Studio One 6?
Who would of ever guessed that they would have clip launching before them, yikes.

Nah, Studio One has a whole Show page for live performances. Quite a bit more advanced than a goofy clip looper.

No, it's simply a thread for those interested.

Soundwise, does it sound the same as Mixbus, just by adjusting the stock EQ curves?

Yes... because a clip launcher automatically makes something more advanced and innovative for live performance.

I read a bit about Ardour 7.0 clip launcher, and at the moment it is just that - a clip launcher, ie, it can't yet record loops. Loop recording is coming later. Apparently, you can record a clip in the normal linear way and drag it into the clip launcher to launch it, which is something that the free Bandlab Sonar has been capable of for years. Personally, I think its great news, and look forward to the day when all DAWs include loop recording.

I think a lot of people would agree with you.

A DAW that is strictly designed for a linear timeline, works best for genres from the past, such as Classical, Rock, R&B, etc. While electronic music is more modern than all those genres, it's only a simple conclusion that catering for those genres would lead to being more advanced and innovative for the time.

Sometimes you have to move with the times, instead of being left in the past. I think their latest release of version 6.0 shows just how underwhelming it is for a modern audience and customer base. A lot of people would agree that they took a step sideways, not forward. As for Ardour, it's leap forward, and probably unexpected by a lot of people.

True. ;)

It still looks pretty clunky to use. Its a shame Ardour doesn't get the same kind of manpower and financial investment as Blender does. Blender is now as good as any other commercial software from big corporations.
