So... I'm trying to set up a more me headphone mix to record vocals, so I figured I'd try headphone mixes as implemented in the Cubase Control Room.
OMG!!! THAT WAS A MISTAKE!
What a convoluted nightmare of endless clicks and menus, and only 200 clicks and FIVE HOURS LATER, I still can't get it to do the simple thing I want.
All I want is my full mix and my headphones a good bit louder.
I've watched multiple tutorials and have done EXACTLY what they said to do I think.
I adjust the volume in the cue sends and nothing changes. Nothing happens.
Now I wish I could just get rid of Control Room altogether, but... when I disable Control Room in the audio settings, I can't hear any of my tracks at all, so have now ruined my entire project trying to use Control Room?
All I want is Control Room OFF of and out of my project. I regret the day I ever attempted to use it.
How do I back out, and get my project back to where it was before I STUPIDLY attempted to use Control Room?
What Am I Doing Wrong On Cubase Control Room?

Ozinga’s answer is correct. That’s one of those little “gotchas” about using Control Room. When you activate it, it automatically disconnects the Output tab connection to your I/O. When you dismiss Control Room, it doesn’t reestablish the Output connection…so you have to do it manually as Ozinga suggests.

Addition to above answers: it is useful to create presets for I/O routing with and without Control Room. Then apply them on demand.
