If it's anything like the other two in the Augmented series, it will use piano samples to get some sounds that may or may not sound much like pianos.dumbledog wrote: Tue Oct 18, 2022 4:16 pm Livestream is going on now. New Augmented Grand Piano so far. And it looks like KVR's sidebar just leaked the MiniFreak, lol.
(Edit: The piano uses samples, which surprises me given that they have their own piano software of course)
Arturia V Collection 10. Predictions.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Hm, maybe it's because I bought Piano a few days after the show but Arturia's download server seems a lot quicker than it used to be. I am pleased. Looking forward to having some fun with it after work.

the classic ensoniq mirage or the emulator III would be a good thing to have in software

The Mirage, yes.
With an Emu III emulation all those Proteus versions could be reanimated as sound packs. They use the same technology….

Actually, the EIII was more than any of the Proteus. It had a resonant filter, which the Proteus lack.Tj Shredder wrote: Fri Oct 21, 2022 8:19 am The Mirage, yes.

I hope they add MPE to more of the back catalog and maybe find a way to creep into emulating some 90s gear. Would probably require official licensing but some of the early VAs would be great (nord lead 1, original virus, MS-2000?)

I'd love to see them do more classic Samplers -- they've done a great job so far with the one's they've covered (EmuII, Fairlight, Synclavier). Mirage is an obvious choice, simple as it may be; if they could make it -actually sample-, all the better. Digging into the E-Mu world further would be interesting too.
Synth wise? Feels like they've done them all, really; they have sooo many emulations. I'd say Xpander, but that's basically exactly what the Matrix 12 V is, just...less.

I would dearly love to see the Korg PS series recreated. The PS3300 was a monster! I recently saw one of the few remaining functional 3300s at a local repair place, and they tech said that it could easily sell for $50-70K. Beyond that... well, it's no secret that Roland's own recreations of the D-50, JV1080, XV5080, System 100, System 700, etc. etc. are pretty lame, so maybe Arturia could take those on as well.

The ROM for D50 is copyrighted. TubeOhm did a synth a decade ago called Vintage

Softube already has the definitive Moog Modular. Arturia should do the ARP2600 + Matrix 12V and forget about Modular V. A Roland D50 done properly would have to be licensed.

I think a Casio PT-1.
It was called a VL tone in the US I believe.
The oboe preset was a classic, and I really miss having ready access to a calculator you could write shell oil ( 54377 017 ) on as you render a part.
Also, Yamaha CS-01
In all seriousness though...Korg DW8000, Yamaha SY85 and some kind of replacement for Spark. Give us drums Arturia !! The sounds in Spark were great, but Spark itself was pretty laggy iirc, but that was a long time ago, so surely they're in a much better position now to have another stab at it.
Also, The OSCar

they will include augmented piano and the software minifreak.
They also reach a point where they include other developers' plugin in V Collection: that would be Korg wavestate native.

I always love another good classic wavetable type of synth.
PPG wave 2.2
JD-800
Wavestation
D-50
If they made a drum, let’s just skip past the usual suspects. We all know the ones that have already been done to death.
Like maybe an organ rhythm box collection. The lesser known cousins of the CR-78.
Or some of the less well known 80s ones like: R8, RX11, CR-1000, or the EMU SP-12 would be cool
