(Doesn't work with every plugin tho, only with proper vst3's. But you can always assign parameters to Quick Controls if a plugin doesn't support direct showing of a parameter)
This I know from FL Studio too... sadly too little developers doing this...
Or, you can always show an Automation track by just selecting it from the list of available parameters.
This I find even more tedious than the writing thinie...
Or, use the Automation Panel, various settings there to try out.
What´s this??
Plus, you don't have to hit play and stop, you can just write along. Depends on the settings in the Automation Panel if an Automation track is shown immediately or not.
I didn´t know that...
So you say I can only enable write mode and move the parameter without hitting play and the automation track appears??
...this would be an option... in any video I saw people were using always play/stop for making an automation track...

If yes, are you able to enter real values for automation points by typing in??
Yes, if the dev properly implemented it.

You can enter real values by using the info line.
Thx! :tu:

Weirdly, when you switch to 'generic gui' it works with everything.

Yeah, especially when plugins have many parameters. I just mentioned it because not many ppl know this.

When you have 'Reveal Parameter on Write' on in the settings, Cubase will show whatever parameter you are moving when you hit 'write' during playback.

No, it has to play for writing. It's just the way i work ; when the project is playing i just hit 'write' on my controller. Sometimes i don't even have to move the parameter, and it'll show the automation track. What i meant is that you simply hit write while you're playing. That is unless you select an automation parameter from the list.
The loudness war is over, loudness has won
