Same here, liking my K371 after moving from M50X.ctRy wrote: Tue Dec 07, 2021 10:17 pm I've been using AKG K371, and they've been pretty amazing. They have a more neutral sound (less muddy) compared to ATH-M50X, which I've been using previously.
What is the best "Closed-Back Studio Reference Headphones"?

My beyerdynamic DT 1990 have been so great I say you couldn't go wrong with the closed back dt 1770.
For more budget I find my sennheiser amperirior great for listening with a club vibe. These are e basically hd 25. Good value, pretty durable. I do sometimes use these for music to give more vibe in the creation stage.

I've got the AKG K553 MKII and I highly recommend them. Neutral sound and very comfortable. They also feel solidly built. Some people say it can be hard to get a good seal, but I haven't found that to be the case. I've got a pretty big head though, so that might help.
If you can, get the MKII rather than the original PRO model because they come with a detachable cord.

I really like DT 700 Pro X as a whole package.
- Super Comfy, no problem wearing long hours
- Sound neutral enough, much better than the predecessor DT 770 Pro which I have been using for years, 700 still has that high mid shelve but to a much more manageable degree and the mid sound is much better/balanced than the 770 Pro, bass is also much less boomy
- the earcups won't hit your jaw when you take them off your head to monitor on speakers.
- Much easier to drive to enough volume than the 770 Pro.
The only con to me, it's a bit too expensive compared to the DT 770 Pro.
