Looking for a VST that can generate random chord progressions

I would like to find a VST that is able to generate random chord progressions that are selected from a particular list of chords. It would have to be able to handle chords that do not belong to a particular scale, and the VST must be able to create custom chords. An added bonus would be if the VST could play the chord progressions with various rhythmic patterns.

I said it a thousand times : loomer architect can do it all .
Threads like these come up at a steady rate lately , people are looking for a midi plugin that can do a particular task , later on looking for another plugin that does another particular task.
Developer’s asking ridiculous amounts of money for one trick pony midi effects , while I am thinking to myself , “ but loomer arch. already does that etc .,”
Wouldn’t it be more convenient to invest some time-money in a program that can do it all ?
In the long run you will benefit from it , both financially and musically .
I’ve made multiple fragments- macros in architect that do exactly what the latest “ looking for midiplug” ask for.
I just want to spread some awareness about certain programs which I think are trully wonderfull .

I thought Architect was crap and the Dev unethical and misleading. And I can program and taught IT at one of the world's top universities.
To OP, there are plenty of varying complexity. Eg scaler and forager, even riffer can do 4 note chords, depends what you mean by chords
Here is an example of riffer generating chords - one instance of riffer so limited to 4 note chords max, left a few single notes in there but could be pure chords with varying degrees of randomness if wanted https://greghooper2.bandcamp.com/track/ ... chord-demo

dev made all sorts of claims and didnt fulfil them. Anyone who followed the development from first announcement knows this.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Oct 24, 2022 8:23 pmCare to explain ?fairlyclose wrote: Mon Oct 24, 2022 12:04 am I thought Architect was crap and the Dev unethical and misleading.
Did he ever add in all those presets he spoke about?

Architect was a huge disappointment!
The dev doesn’t seem to be able to get it together at all.
It’s in eternal beta it would seem.
Still waiting for the presets, 3 years after he promised them…

Perhaps something like frozenplain Obelisk might do as well - many options available

For an eternal beta ( your words) it’s more stable then certain official releases.simmo75 wrote: Mon Oct 24, 2022 9:04 pm Architect was a huge disappointment!

I build stuff myself so I don’t really care about presets , but sometimes I have the impression people just don’t want to learn new things.
If you know how an osc is generated in the dsp domain you can easily create lfo’s in architect etc ,I will upload some if I find the time .
Hell , you can even use the aux lane of a seq. as an lfo , just draw your shape et voila.
I am sure the macros will come sooner or later and I think architect is an amazing tour de force considering it’s coded by one man .
The possibilities are endless , so are the stepsequencers and modulation options right out the box ,and the timing is rock solid .
Closest thing to a cirklon in the software realm.

this comes across to me as "some people are not good enough for Architect but I am "gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Oct 24, 2022 10:50 pm

fairlyclose: How did you set up Riffer to do the chords demo? I have Riffer, but I didn't see how to set it up for creating chords. Also, of the suggestions so far, Scaler 2 seems to be closest to what I was looking for. I checked out Forager and MusicJam, but I didn't see that they were able to create custom chords. Thanks for all the suggestions - keep them coming!

Obviously has a hell of a lot of time on his hands.
