Not really Instrument Forum specific, but....
- Hardware beats software for Mastering (it doesn't)
- I don't need to worry so much about mono (my stereo mixes sound better when mono optimized)
- I should move from Reaper to Bitwig (the recent Bitwig fiasco cooled my jets on this one)
- I can't make a decent mix with just headphones (I'm actually getting better at it)
Probably a bunch more. I'm wrong a lot but always questioning my assumptions.

Granular Reverb. Always thought granular FX are just a hipster thing (that's true indeed, when it comes to effect pedals
), until I started making my own sounds with MI Clouds (-inside Softube Modular). It's capable of producing very interesting lofi reverb, really like it....

Had a rethink about bass pedal use, go to 10:15 of the vid to hear why
(nice review from the start, for a cool $60 piece of gear now improved

I thought AKG's tuning wasn't for me after trying a lot of their headphones over the years and being quite set in my ways, but the K612 (and K371) has really impressed me.
Another one is that I used to think fuzz pedals weren't for me at all... until I demo'd a few that had that voltage starved gated sound to them. Those are really cool!
Aaand, last one. I didn't care that much about aliasing but I do now after comparisons with a lot of gear and plugins with my guitar. On the high E, things can get quite rough as the distortion bounces back. I thought my 90's POD would fare the worst, but who knew it's actually oversampled heavily. So, I've been really underestimating some of my digital gear too. Now I just use Reaper's per-plugin oversampling on plugins that need it... if they support it, that is.
