"cut and paste" a rhythm from one midi chord progression to another?

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Is there an easy way to copy the rhythm of one midi sequence and apply it to another in Logic Pro (or Ableton)?

For example, I like the rhythm of a 4 bar chord sequence I found in the loop browser but I want to apply the rhythm it to a chord progression I got from a chord pack that plays all chords as whole notes (i.e. one chord per bar).

Do you know of if there is an easy way to copy the rhythm of the first chord progression and apply it to the second one?

I have tried selecting the first midi sequence in Logic and using "Make Groove Template" and then applying that template to the second sequence using quantize but it didn't seem to do anything (but maybe I did it wrong).

Any insights are much appreciated!
