Hello,
I sometimes have the issue that my root notes are for example in a range from B to D#. Now i have the issue that the 808 sounds kinda bad on b4 but if I would pitch the 808s one octave up, D# 6 sounds really bad. I know i could repitch the sample but then it sometimes doesnt sound good anymore. Any advice how my 808 could hit with the same rootnotes?
Thanks for your answer and please dont mind my bad english :)

A couple of options. First, try some EQ/compression automation to tweaks your weak notes; your DAW's manual should explain how to do it. Another is to edit the samples themselves -- if one note is bad, load it into your DAW and tweak away with EQ and compression and whatnot until it sounds good; render it, and use that as your B sample. Or get better samples. Probably the best idea (YMMV) is simply not to use samples. There are plenty of 808 emus available; AFAICT, the best is RC-808. Happy hunting!
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!
