I have good luck with Art Teknika Console. Once you identify the (couple of) VSTs that make it crash on load of the VST, Console has been perfect. I get the general impression that every host has problems with some VSTs. Test, test, test.

Well, thanks alot for all the advices.
KVR is realy a great community :D

I have only tryed the demo of energyxt and im realy impressed.
I cant beleive how cheap is it and i like the modular interface (remind me of my nord modular)great way to setup thing.
I am going to buy energyxt after christmas i think.
Ram and cpu usage are very low.

maybe you should wait a bit and see what Reason 3 has in the guts on that purpose

Sounds very promising...

Definitely! I've never seen it crash.

Yep... Reason is even more stable than Live.

First: I agree that the thing to do is look for problems elsewhere than in Live, which is superb.

Second: Reason's great, and I love it to bits. But it's not what most people would call a host. :-)

Third: If you really want a great host for live use, you could do a lot worse than brainspawn forte. No sequencer, no DAW, just a powerful way to manage various combinations of plug-ins and controllers in real time.

YIPE! Major lightning right nearby. Bye! *click*

EnergyXT is great for live playing, but not uncrashable...be careful with with CPU-hungry Reverb&Delays...though it could be easily restarted IF it crashes

I use betas Audiomuch since 2002...
I've never had problems in those years!

If you are only going to use the host as a container of synths and effects for live playing, and don't need any other features like sequencing etc, XLUTop's Chainer is a very good choice. It is rock solid.

I'd look at using Live4 as your host and then if you need anything else when playing live, use Reason rewired for Synth lines and such. It's completely stable in Live4.

My plan is to use Reason3 with no VST's in Live when I play live (except maybe Devine Machine's Lucifer). Most stable setup I can think of.

another vote for Audiomulch here. AM is the only Host that didn't crash on me for years. I tried a lot of different Hosts. A close second would be Orion
Platinum, but it has a different concept.
:)
With XT i had some very funny "exceptions at xxx.xxx.xxx" messages, which kept me from using this live. :(
