Big Sky is overpriced. I`ll stick with the amazing Xenoverb as well.. which was also updated last week!

It’s easy enough to do your own “bake off.” I did, and I felt like Zenoverb was OK. Worth it for the money, but if you’re looking for high-quality, interesting algorithms, keep looking. To me plugins like Big Sky are definitely worth the extra money and it’s pretty easy to hear why.

Perhaps one day will do a proper bake off of my own. Xenoverb is by no means best of best certainly, but for 1/10 the price, you get a lot more than 10% of the way there. If you need to be closer ... and a $200 software reverb gets you there, by all means. Not on my shopping list. Great for you if it is. That's what makes a market.

I was responding to pansp0rmia’s comment that it was “overpriced.” Saying something is “too expensive,” points to the buyer’s situation, and that’s fine. “Overpriced” means that they’re trying to get more money than something is worth. For instance, to me, a Bricasti reverb unit is “too expensive,” but I don’t necessarily think it’s “overpriced.”

I do disagree with you on the “10% of the way there.” I don’t know what your monitor situation is like, but in my studio the difference was pretty stark.

Haven't listened to compare. My hat is off to anyone who can justify the expense, afford it, and make use of the Big Sky Plugin. Arguable whether I could make use of it, but definitely cannot afford nor justify the expense.

I'm happy with the HW, still no desire to try the plugin. I use HW mostly anyway, and any cpu drain from this reverb would not go over well with me. Also, Timeline is like half of a package to me, I would miss not being able to use them together. So that's another $200 when they come out with that, no doubt. heh...

No need to get it surely, if you own the hardware?
I bought it and love it, it’s so beautiful, really lush!
CPU is next to nothing on my mac, barely registers.

Nice, my computer is like 12 yrs old now. Not much interest in computer spending for me in a while,
too interested in buying pedals and HW

Yeah, I have both the BigSky and Timeline, should probably get the Mobius as well, but I haven't.

Hardware is the way to go man, I’m going the same way, but couldn’t afford the pedal.

I know this probably sounds weird, but I think the plugin sounds better than the HW Big Sky that I just sold. Maybe I had a bad unit??? Anyway, the plugin is money well-spent if you can afford it, and you are a reverb junkie, such as I am. I also own the hardware Tegeler Raumzeitmaschine Tube reverb, so I guess I have a reverb addiction.

I think it could be due to your converters. I don’t like using hardware effects because the converters in them are usually not great. Rather go through my prism titan and use the same algorithms in my daw.

Weird it's still not at sale. But hope is not gone yet. (I don’t take the demo version purposely, so as not to suffer lol).
