3 main amp models with three components each so you can mix and match up to 9.

To me it is like having a handful of choice first call customizable amps in your studio. A few other nice accessories in there and it's simple and straight forward. The price is right for anyone from the casual to the pro to get it.

The cool thing is that even if you were planning on getting the full AmpliTube you can get this and then get the AmpliTube full upgrade which practically covers the difference in cost (the upgrade is $249. - so at MSRP it is even better than the difference!). That makes it a nice stepping stone, a trial piece or even just a smart buying move to get something extra for nothing (if you were going to get AmpliTube full anyway at some point) because Live/LE has a tuner and real time vol/wah, stand alone and other features that are different.

If you think about it that way it is sort of a no brainer. Why not? I think this version is hot. It's not like the quality was diminished either. It's the same quality amp modeling as in the $399. version. It just has less features that's all. But, if you look at the "features" of a Vox AC30 (ie. tone control) it is really all about the SOUND of running something through that amp.

When it comes to IK's modeled sound the fact that AmpliTube has won over 10 awards tells you that a lot of people really dig it. I think that's more awards than any other plug-in has gotten. Of course there have been other "me too" amp sims coming out as well lately. AT sort of set the standard though. Each company can approach it differently and it depends a lot on the people involved too. It's all in the engineering and the "ears". I know the people in Italy who are behind AT and have total respect for their talents. I learned about how the developers model the circuitry and then A/B by ear and go back and forth with the science and the art until it's musically hit the spot. I love this kind of thing. I even sent off a couple of vintage pieces I own for them to model (I won't tell you which though... he he. You'll have to wait and see! ;) ).

So, to be able to get a taste of IK's amp modeling for this price is really awesome. I opens up the doors for more people to be able to afford it. This has only recently become available as a package like this for multiple formats. ProTools users have been able to use it and seem to love it. But, now everyone can. If you get it I am curious to see what you think and if you appreciate it the same way I do.

No doubt, the value is incredible.

They should probably update their advertising, though. Showing a picture of Amplitube Live, in a Mac environment with "Amplitube Live" on the name of the window, and "Amplitube Live" on the dock or whatever it's called... then stating "1,200 combinations, Holy $#&!" is a direct statement that Amplitube Live has as many combinations as Amplitube.

So the clean amp is AC30, the crunch amp is Marshall and the Lead amp is Mesa? What about the speaker cabinets? Are they modelled on any particular manufacturer's cabinet?

Have I missed the point?

I disagree with you on that. AmpliTube is a line of products. If the person goes to the web link they can see which version has the features they are looking for. The ad is just making people aware of the brand, the image with the software on the computer with the cable coming out of the screen is just something to convey the idea of it in a simple way. In a more literal way I suppose you could see AT full inside Logic or something. But, that just doesn't look as straight forward as a stand alone AT Live.

I like the ad. But, to each his own.

Each component is from the same amp. So you have those three amps with 3 components separated out. You can make hybrid vox/marshall amps and things like that (you can REALLY go nuts with that in the full version).

I like the ad, too. But would it REALLY have been a stretch for them to NOT put the "Live" one alongside the "1200 settings" tagline? I think it's a misleading ad, even though it's a visually appealing and effective one.

So does that mean (for example) that if I choose the British cab speaker that the 3 amp settings will be Marshall clean, crunch and lead amp emulations?

Nevermind. RTFM.

A download version would have been great. I would have saved shipping costs and would not be waiting now for a box to arrive. :( :)

Maybe some day we'll have downloadable stuff on esoundz.com Today we don't though.

You can get a downloadable version from www.amplitube.com

I know what you want though and sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too. ;) However, we do listen to what esoundz customers want. We can't implement downloadable products immediately but it is something we're willing to work on providing. In fact, I will open another thread about it.

just curious if the standalone version of 'amplitube live' can stream your jam to disc.

Being as I just bought ATLive and LE I was wondering if there is likely to be a user area similar to the one for ATFull where users can share presets?

Yeah, we're working on that. When you get stuff from esoundz you can pretty much count on some extra added value stuff down the line at some point. But, you guys can share presets anyway here if you wanted to. As long as you made them.

Hi,(Squids)

I just bought a podxt because I was fed up with latency. I am still considering something like amplitube live.

The publicity states that it is possible to play with a standard windows soundcard without any noticable latency. I find that hard to believe.

Not that I have only a standard soundcard :-), I use a Terratec MT88 and I do suffer from "latency problems". Especially for playing "live guitar". Not a problem with VSTI.

I have the impression cubase is not correct in evaluating the latencies.

Anyway, what about that "no latency" statement? How real is it?
