KORG SQ-64, New Hands-On Poly MIDI/CV Sequencer Officially Announced

The v2 firmware dropped, finally offering a step sequencer capability that should have been there from day one, but I am having no bloody luck getting the firmware update to work on my SQ-64 in Win11. I'm using latest firware 2.02 via the KORG System Updater and I went through the usual bs to get the SQ64 MIDI driver listed in the top 10 and booted the SQ64 holding generate and pattern to boot it into midi update mode.

Has anyone had joy doing this?

It was mentioned on a YT site I subscribe to, Molten Modular, on his October wrapup.

Even more annoying, to get the SQ64 to show in the first ten devices I deleted something I thought was fine and that's now completely screwed my MioXL MIDI setup and now none of my MIDI devices are getting picked up. Bloody Korg and their stupid driver nonsense.

I have issues with Korg Drivers for other devices. For firmware updates I went to the Mac. It seems to work consistently on that platform for some unknown reason.

On Windows the Korg USB MIDI devices have to show in the top 10 list due to their MIDI drivers, no such limitation on Mac it seems. It’s just the way they’ve coded things for some inexplicable reason, not a Windows limitation in the OS.

I just updated, went smoothly. I use mac so no drivers to go wrong here.
Not the biggest update but it’s reassuring to know it’s not being dropped.
