IK Comprexxor. All around favorite. It's is actually quite clean, but there is a separate knob for adding a mojo. Great on everything.
TDR Molotok. This will never sound clean. It is quite "tubey" sounding and can smear transients in a very musical way when pushed (unlike many other comps which start to crackle when pushed hard)

Yeah, Zip's Analysis modes (controlling which part of the signal triggers compression) and Envelope really make it unique! I love it for helping drum grooves breathe.

I think waves have some of the best compressors for sure, SSL E Channel or the CLA Mixhub are my fav's.

This thread has a big problem in that people don't really get into the detail of what type of material they are trying to compress.
For electronic music I really think that on individual tracks compressors make a lot less difference than they do for vocals, or other real/acoustic instrumentation.
I still think at bus and master level good compressors can really bring something. I have different compressors I think are good for drums, other buses, vocals and main mix bus. I think this thread misses the nuance without this.

Waves RS124, their dbx, any analogue model they do really., Neold have a couple too, well there's quite a few good compressors under the plugin Alliance banner that qualify here.

I tried it and at first it seemed quite interesting to me. But essentially the same can be achieved with OTTsokoleski wrote: Wed Oct 26, 2022 9:33 pm +1 Shapeshifter
That fukker is insanely good...color, transient, up/downwards comp.
