All parameters are available for the DAW's automation now.
This is simply not true. I have just checked if we finally can automate changing the content of ANY dropdown menu and it is still not possible. I´m counting over 30 dropdown menus with the most important settings for Gladiator and not a single one is automatable. Pretty uninspiring when you use the randomization button and for quick sound design inspiration.

This has been requested so many times, here and in your own forum as well as the option to lock individual parameters when hitting randomize but nothing is changing unfortunatelly.
I've never thought of automating dropdown list! I just change values within the parameter itself.
Anyway, which synth can do that?
Every synth I use has automatable dropdown menus, eg. Hive filter type, trigger type or pretty much every single dropdown menu in the OSC panels.
I see.

Well, I don't know really, but if I want to use another type of filter (for example), I would use another track with another preset that has that filter. I mean I don't think it is useful for me to switch dropdown lists in the same patch. I really can't think of a use for that.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I understand but Gladiators most important settings to morph the sound is inside of over 30 dropdown menus. If I cannot automate a single one them its a missed opportunity.

You are not really familiar with the workflow of sound designers.
Sorry, but you are completely wrong with this. I did not only build Gladiator, I did also build most of it's patches for the factory context and the expansions.
Proof: Check out the patches. Everything with 'MF' was designed by myself. Then check out the about-box by clicking on Gladiator on the top left: Sound Design: Markus Krause (MF)

In HCM synthesis the OSC modifiers are non-realtime parameters. They can't be properly automated for morphing, since today's computers are too slow for this. Instead the concept for sound-design in Gladiator is to use the MORPHMODE LFO. You can find a detailed explanation about it in the manual.

Well, I have just tested most of the drop down list automation in Ableton Live 11, and it recorded the change and played it back no problem! So, it seems everything can be automated. I don't have Bitwig to check, but in Ableton Live it is ok.

They are automatable in v3.5.4:
Mod1A
ModVal1
Mod1B
ModVal1B
etc

Maybe you did not install the latest version.

Markus, I´m not criticizing your sound design skills. You are a very good sound designer. But everyone has a different workflow. I love to experiment with a constant changing type of color in my work. Be it an ambient track or a crazy sounding transition sound effect.
I wouldn´t use your synths if I wasn´t aware of the good quality. But please, let it be my own decision if I want to change the type of the filter on the fly or automate a setting or not.

Thanks for checking! So, it works in Ableton but not in Bitwig Studio? Unfortunatelly I´ve sold my copy of Live and cannot test it. I just re-checked and not a single one dropdown list can be automated in Bitwig 4.2

I checked it out. Automation of Dropdown-List-Parameters is deactived in Bitwig for compatibility reasons. I will check out if I can support it in future updates.
Anyway you should avoid Automation on Dropdown-List-Parameters in Gladiator (and aswell in most other synths) as this can result in clicks and glitches.
