Hello everybody! Since I worked a bit on it, I wanted to promote the very last plug-in being released by Puremix / process.audio, called spicerack.

It's not just the nth distortion plug-in being released this year  but also a tool that has some very specific advantages in my humble opinion over the competitors:
  • Since all the filters can be linear phase, the dry/wet capabilities make more sense here than in other contexts, and open up a lot of possibilities
  • Can sound really warm or smooth or extreme depending on the settings and the use of the dry/wet control
  • We spent a LOT of time trying out different strategies to have the proper output volume and gain staging when playing with the main drive parameter with the 5 distortion algorithms
  • The Console Remote functionality which enables the manipulation of the main parameters of ALL the spicerack instances in the DAW, showing sometimes the tracks information depending on the DAW capabilities directly in the UI
  • Like with Sugar, we tried to put in one place some stuff we like which would need normally several plug-ins and more or less complex manipulations in the DAW (gate + dry/wet for example)
  • Full OpenGL UI
We're very proud of what we did here, so don't hesitate to have a try and send us your comments!

Congratulations on the release!
The GUI looks great, and I like the vertical eQ layout :)

Thanks a lot!

Ar first it seemed to me an interesting plugin, but after I remembered that I have Izotope Trash 2 :)

I really LOVE the sound of their first plugin Sugar, it’s beyond amazing, but there’s an annoying bug that makes it barely usable : if you bypass the plugin in Cubase in any way, CPU goes crazy. You MUST NOT bypass Sugar. If you mute the whole rack effect and you forgot Sugar is in, Cubase becomes suddenly unusable.
I hope this is fixed in this plugin and that it’s not a generic Process Audio typical behaviour.

Looks good, but the price doesn't. Spending $149 for 1 plugin in these times I can't justify. Especially when there were similar plugins already released this year which overlap a lot.
Fury $79
Coldfire 29€
sa2rate $31
The Oven $31
All these are of exceptional quality, but it seems process.audio seem to target an other audience.

this is ~83€ now on their homepage for Black Friday... demoing now.

I wanted it so bad, but comparing to competitors is really out of price range 😳
