Ableton Simpler and Glide/Portamento in Beats warp mode

Can anyone please help me understand more about the innards of Ableton? Particularly, I’m curious why in Simpler, using glide/portamento whilst in beats warp mode doesn’t update the pitch until the subsequent transient or time/beat division is reached. Could this have to do with CPU load? Just curious from a theoretical perspective. Thanks!
