Heh, I'm a fairly boring furry... not terribly extravagant. Here are two good links for you, a couple of furry online comics that are popular among humans too. :-)

Ozy and Millie, which largely concerns two fox children, their friends, families, a pirate whose life runs on a reversed clock, the dragon conspiracy, House Rules Parcheesi, and (ahem) liberal politics. IMO this is a great replacement for "Peanuts," one of the greatest comics of all time.

Kevin and Kell, about a rabbit who marries a wolf, their offspring (Coney the carnivorous baby bunny is particularly cute), co-workers, and the worlds they and we live in.

Some great stuff here.

vurt, you're welcome. *bow* There are plenty more strips out there, you'll find them while googling.

Yup. I identify rather closely with my virtual persona. Would gladly be such a being if it were possible. :-)

My mate and I were just discussing the idea of prog-punk... might not be as ridiculous as I'd thought when I typed it! :-D This morning I heard a radio news report on symphonic hip-hop crossover music. =o.O= I was surprised -- it didn't sound so absurd once I stopped thinking . o O (Nooooo...! Can't be!)

Ever since Joe Strummer died, so has 'punk-hop'...

Conspiracy, or coincidence. :?

Tough call, as punk in many ways grew out of a certain opposition to prog (Yes, ELP, etc). Not far off the mark would be a band like Godspeed You Black Emperor, or maybe even elaborate metal like Voivod or Isis.

Yup. Don't know the groups you mention but I've heard of Voivod (Russian for vampire, isn't it?)

I'm quite fond of prog rock. Doesn't bother me that the practicioners tend to have huuuuge egos. I don't have to listen to them talk about themselves, just play. :-) Cosmic sludge, mmmm... Synthesizer excesses, over-production, eighty-minute songs, wheee...

But I also got a kick out of punk -- Ramones especially, but also lots of small local acts. What killed the movement around here was "fashion punks," who talked the talk but had no idea how to walk the walk. My mate could tell you a lot more about that, she having been part of the scene at the time (and having dealt with far too many fashion punks -- blee).

I'm firmly lodged at the zero-point between logic and intuition, impulse and deliberation, feeling and reason. And y'know... it's not that bad a place. :-)

Yes. And also a weird french Metal band that a lot of punks appearently were into.

I thought punk WAS fashion!? Aren't Pink and Avril punk? And Green Day and Janet Jackson, right?

[Note: It isn't easy to render Meffy speechless. One way is to convulse him with giggles. Two points, Lady J!]

Anyway, Punk-hop. Is that HipHop bands getting into punk or punk bands getting into HipHop? dont sound that far away from early Beasties/Def Jam stuff.

I do like a bit of the old-school punk funk - The Contortions, Gang of 4, The Pop Group, PiL, ESG, etc. Wicked stuff.
Not too keen on Franz Ferdinand, The Rapture et al, but still quite good.

99 Problems by Jay-Z ruled, but it was totally old-school :)
