Hi there,
could you please check with VSTi3 versions of synths you own (like Vital, ANA2 or others) which allow numeric editing of real values (like Hz, Semitones etc...) of automation points if this happens to you too???
If I try i.e. with Vital or ANA2 to automate the filter cutoff by entering numeric values on an automation point and I hit enter... in both DAWs the automation point jumps to it´s maximum value no matter what I have entered...
This happens for me just with Instruments but not with VST3 FX which allow real value editing...
Reaper for me doesn´t let me edit real values for these (for not a single instrument) ... just for FX plugins

I can confirm in Ableton.
I tested with Vital frequency of a filter. When you glide the automation point it shows a value between -52 semitones to 76 semitones (128 total) ...instead of a frequency value.
But if you right click and edit the point you need to enter a value between 0 and 1. For exemple 0.75 will put the point at 75% of the range. So everything from 1 and above will get you to the top.
With Serum, every parameter are shown with a value between 0 and 1 so there is no confusion.

Maybe my reply was too long so I'll just repeat the important part...

This basically means the real values for numerical edits are just cosmetics and you still have to work with decimal numbers and make a blindflight as you don´t know what result it will have!!
Thx... I didn´t thought of this ...

I know this is off this specific topic, but I have been unable to figure out where or how to create a new post or post a new question. Can you please help me figure out where this is done? I am a new to Waveform and experiencing crashes when using Vital in the DAW. Thanks - Gary

On the main forum page, scroll down to where it says 'company forums' and Tracktion is listed there.erraymusic wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 1:30 am I know this is off this specific topic, but I have been unable to figure out where or how to create a new post or post a new question. Where you clicked 'Post Reply' - that changes to 'New Topic'. Use that to make a new post.
*edit* Or could post it here - just click 'Hosts & Applications...' above and hit 'New Topic'.
