CHISS-LAR!
Serious music that makes you howl with laughter?

For me, it's got to be 'The Chislers' by The Fall. I don't know how 'serious' it's supposed to be... But what ever happened to Mark E. Smiths voice on this is utterly hilarious. Sounds like he was sucking helium or something?
The music is great, but the lyrics are the WEIRDEST! (Stones are short, Pink Floyd are short... WTF?
) And then this 'intermission' bit... This song is a riot!
CHISS-LAR!

<DonaldTrump>Lady J, you're twisted...</DonaldTrump> but in the best way. :-)
After considerable pondering, my mate and I have come up with:
- Several classical and operatic pieces used in cartoons (kill da wabbit!) (retoinnnn my looooove)
- "... and ah'm proud ta be an Amurkin..." (God Bless the USA) -- laugh while crying
- any number of supposedly serious country songs, mostly modern >_<
- lots of songs that have given rise to mondegreens; a good example would be "In the Sunshine of Your Love" (I'll stay with you 'til disease all dries up)
[edit] Millie (my mate, not the Millie in the comic) thought of another one:
"Death... OHHHH deaaaath..." from the "O Brother Where Art Thou" soundtrack.

'Stand by Your Man', and 'D.I.V.O.R.C.E'... great songs, but also hilariously camp...- any number of supposedly serious country songs, mostly modern >_<
And of course, amongst the classics, there's always the old William Shatner versions of Mr Tambourine Man and Lucy in the Sky...

Velevet Donkey Album(1975)by Ivor Cutler(now in his 80's...he was originally air played by the late great John Peel in 69...just another testament to the diversity and open mindedness of Peely)...the lyrics are as mad as the titles.
Side One
If your breasts
I got no common sense (FF)
Useful cat (PK)
Oho my eyes
The dirty dinner
Yellow fly (FF)
Mother's Love (PK)(FF)
The meadows go
Phonic Poem
Life in a Scotch sittingroom, Vol.2 Ep.2
Birdswing
Nobody knows (FF)
Uneventful day (PK)
Little black buzzer
Bread and butter
Side Two
A nuance
Go and sit upon the grass
The even keel
Pearly Gleam
The best thing (PK)
Life in a Scotch sittingroom Vol.2 Ep.7
Once upon a time
There's got to be something
The purposeful Culinary Implements
Gee,amn't I lucky (FF)
The curse
I think very deeply
I,slowly (PK)
Sleepy old snake (FF)
Titchy digits
The stranger
(PK
