Very cool! I hope that turns out to be the case!GaryG wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 8:48 am Surge is on the list of possible modules to add and it's license seems compatible so guess it's likely they will be added.
Vember Audio Surge is now open-source

That would be awesome indeed! I much prefer Cardinal to VCV Rack as Cardinal is M1 native.

Doesn't mean VCV won't be.

Does anyone know how to make a few octave pitch sweap? Tried to make a kick, but 14 semitones is maximum for now.
Also, would be cool to have a more cleaner fast pitch sweap. Again, useful for making kicks. Right now it is a bit "dirty/glitchy" comparing to some other synths such as Vital, Pigments and Serum. I remember IL Sytrus has this option separately somewhere in the option. By turning this, the pitch envelope turned into very fast and precise making a very sharp kick.
I think it is something to do with the envelope resolution, that is why kicks sounds a bit glitchy.
Thank you.

Yeah if you want utmost control with the envelope, use the MSEG mode of the LFO.

Hi Chris. Yes, LFO changed to Env. But I will try MSEG as EvilDragon suggested.Chris-S wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 10:51 pm Right click on osc pitch, activate extend range.
Do you use a LFO for the pitch mod?
Damn, pads are sounding so ceamy on this synth. Love it.

But is it possible to increase the envelopes resolution as I have described above? So that kicks sounded very clean?EvilDragon wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 10:55 pm Yeah if you want utmost control with the envelope, use the MSEG mode of the LFO.
In fact, I used HQ Sine in wavetables. The original sine wave soundes very artificially from the beginning (weird that it hasn't been replaced with a better quality sine wave) Thank you!

Envelope resolution is not a problem - wavetable resolution can matter. Read this:
https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/su ... wavetables
Also what do you mean with "the original sine wave"? The Sine oscillator? That one is not producing a perfect sine, it's using some approximations to reduce CPU usage.

Thanks. Didn´t know about the default Sinewave. I just tried the Sine HQ3 in Generated Wavetable section. Still, the result is not that clean as in Vital. The attack is little bit smeared. Here the audio example. The second is Surge XT. Please use headphones.EvilDragon wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 2:59 pm Envelope resolution is not a problem - wavetable resolution can matter. Read this:

Ok, seems like a sine wave from the main menu (right above the FM and FM2) is the cleanest one (though it is meant to be for FM). Not as clean as in Vital, but bearable.
Btw, could be great to have an option to have a simple AD envelope in the ENV menu. envelope (but with adjustable curves) just for the percussion sounds. It is not that easy to tune the envelope with all those additional options within the other modules.

What is more likely to happen is to have a MSEG as option instead of the AEG/FEG. https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/surge/issues/5671

That would be nice!EvilDragon wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 6:07 pm What is more likely to happen is to have a MSEG as option instead of the AEG/FEG. https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/surge/issues/5671
As for the envelope, I found out that in Vital the Attack is not finishing at 0. You can turn the attack knob even lower than that. It still says 0 after lowering it down, but this little adjustment brings additional "click" to the attack making it very snappy. Would be nice to have something similar in Surge main AMP envelope.
Also, the main AMP envelope attack in Surge is actually less snapier than in msegs. Which is strange.

Just noticed a bug: https://ibb.co/3TmxFv3
When this happens, the envelope controls turn into gray and don't do anything to the sound.
Win10, Studio One 4
Seems like only the ENV2 is affected.
