Sorry for derailing this topic, but there was a reason for this discussion. Now I'll stop.

Pluginboutique does this every month but nobody complains, it seems people just want to hate on AA for some reason :x
3 pages of complaining about money and nothing about the plugin so I gave up looking for opinions on that.
They will go at least 5 more pages with the back and forth on price.

Seriously, I really wish there was a dedicated section/tab for every thread that is dedicated to pricing banter because that's about 80% of KVR posts these days.

Yikes, even more creepy garbage posts about "free" from people who are jealous that they can't get the plugin free while some others will. The man-baby whining (and let's be honest, the whiners here are likely all "adult" men) sounds like a chorus of dying animals singing an opera.

Im not in the tier to get it free either. Guess what I'm gonna do about it? Not cry 😭, and either pony up €140+ to get the "freebie", or congratulate others on getting what looks like a cool plugin. There's plenty of free stuff that I do not have the means of consuming, and gaining the means would be cost-prohibitive for me, yet I'm still happy that others can get these things free!

And yeah, the plugin outlets online (pb, audio deluxe, adsr, etc) do this all the time, no complaints. But this time someone made a dumb point and then a bunch of groupthinkers with no self-awareness decided to follow that person down a very dumb rabbit hole. This time the "freebie" is more exciting than usual as well.

Maybe start a separate thread for entitled people to rationalize their most man-baby-esque inclinations about free stuff cause the rest of us are growing tired of the smell of onions.

And the award for the most condescending prick goes to ⬆️ 🥱
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Has literally nothing to say, no comeback whatsoever, but is upset that my post is condescending and THEN REPLIES WITH ANOTHER SARCASTIC AND CONDESCENDING POST ⬆️ 🥱

It's a bit like offering an old lady to go for a walk together and then trying to steal her handbag.
The way AA anounced their bf sales, made people expect more than this plugin.
And of course the promotion is more exciting than the plugin, cuz the plugin isn't (not saying it's bad!), can't remember a AA plugin that has ever blown me away, there are also good plugins that don't blow away, though,
but when a dev seems to release a new plugin every 3 weeks, quality can't be expected that much any way. Quantity rules!
And no one seems to wonder why aa switched to algorithmic all of a sudden, some might guess the reason...
Wouldn't it be interesting to find out, whether people still would say aa sounds analog, if there guis would look like Valhalla plugins?!
Well, one can demo the plugin and find out whether one likes it or not, spend 140 or not, that's fair!

⬆️ You sure are spending a lot of time complaining in a thread for a company you supposedly don't like. Also one whose technology you have very little understanding of based on your posts. If you're going to critique at least understand what you are critiquing. Yes people would say it "sounds analog" because it literally dynamically records analog behavior.

If AA said it was "free" to all KVR members with a join date earlier than today, not a single person who complained in this thread would be doing this schtick. Some of you may have even written thank you posts.

This app could be improved. It could have the ability to hide legacy libraries and Acquas, multiple select with using Shift/Ctrl. Hide the waste bin fix, a dark mode. Add the online manual in a PDF form to the download.

I'm just setting up a new build Ryzen for Acquas and N4.5 and Aquarius isn't installing anything, just going through the motions. Visual Studio 2022 installed. It's the first time I've had any issues with it. Sorted, Acustica's help file on deleting C:\Program Files\Acustica\Framework did the trick, it also sorted the waste bin hide.

I must RTFM :borg:

Anyone care to share their thoughts on the plugin? There is a demo I will try when home later this week but until then appreciate any comments.

Everything on it sounds really nice but I rate Sand (another SSL emulation but Acustica) better because it has a nicer EQ. Can't complain, I got this as a free add-on with my purchase and the comp and saturation sound really great.

Thanks for the info and good to hear about the comp/saturation sounding great. Sounds like it can handle many different styles and be gentle or aggressive so will give it a go when home but that sort of flexibility is handy. Might have to demo sand as well.

Music and especially music culture is a cult.

https://www.voicemag.uk/blog/6954/is-mu ... ure-a-cult

And of course the greatest cult on KVR, the cult of plugin reductionism. Look at how much shaming goes on by people to others (that they don't know anything about) pushing their reductionist 'I cut down which plugins I use, blah blah' leaving out implying you should too, leaving out that they exposed themselves to a ton of tools until they found that ones and fit their sound and method of creation. Pushing their narrative people 'must should cutdown' or 'X is a cult' (implying "you don't want to be a cult victim do you") with no knowledge of the person, their goals, their use cases, nor breakdown of their reasoning. Just a statement of negativity for negativities sake.

Use tools you enjoy. Explore the sonic pallet. Don't let anyone else (especially some rando on the internet) influence you. I use Acutica partly because I like the aesthetics of the interfaces, a purely subjective reason. In something like music, a medium that is 100% subjective, do I need to be 'validated' in the eyes of others who live to pass anonymous judgement? F that. I'm picking what makes me feel creative. But then my studio has a huge window that looks out onto a beautiful rocky mountain lake instead of the typical sound deadened cave that is dead and soulless to my creativity, but considered the 'approved' and 'best' space for making music.
