Normally by this time of year, there'd be at least a mega thread in an obvious spot of most music sites listing all the sales going on. I feel like aside from this thread (and truth be told, there's little itt that is exciting to me) there's little out there. I can't find a thread on Gearspace. Or Reddit. Or any of the other usual places where sales are being announced this time of year.
Just you. The V.I. Control thread got handed off to new maintainer this year, but is the best single place to check for music-related deals this time of year.
There's also AudioProductionDeals (year-round reddit thread).

Lol, here I am trying to start a recovery program for GAS and feeding the addiction at the same time. :clown:

They typically do it in December, closer to Christmas. They'll do it. Definitely take your code to a reseller like everyplugin and it works out to a little over 31% off.

Why do you feel a need to talk about stuff you most obviously have not the first clue about?

WUP is between 12 and 18$ per plugin and WUPing all expired plugins in one go is capped at 240$.

That is if one even needs to do that in the first place, which on Windows is highly unlikely, since even the
ancient V9 are available as VST3 and run flawlessly on Win11.
Frankie.T wrote: Sun Nov 13, 2022 9:05 pm i saw different videos where people show how much the WUP costs

So there you have it: a lot of folks talk a lot of bull on Youtube-videos, which is why many of us more knowledgeable guys don't like to waste our time on videos we expect to be unworthy of it. ;-)
You miss the point, that's why maybe "many of you" should "waste" some time watching some video to learn from other people experience.

i.e. you know when on sale most of their plugins are around $29, so i consider this the real price, cause they almost always offer discounts, and this is the first things i don't like.
If they think their plugin worth that money why price them up?
Anyway, you buy that plugin at $29 then after a couple of years, your dear Apple release some new OS that break compatibility, because of software or hardware, and you need an updated version, so you pay like $15? ok.
Another few years and mom Apple break compatibilit again (they like to do that too much imho, but that's another topic) and here we are again, another $15. So you bought your plugin twice.

If you have more plugins the price became even higher, so you endup to pay just to use a product you've already payed for.

There are other companies that support software without paying any cent.

But again everyone here is free to do and choose whathever they feel the best for them, i just don't like paying multiple time for a plugin i've already bought, is that hard to understand?

Edit: I just saw that post on reddit, just in case this isn't another media you dislike, you may give it a look. Maybe you could even give him an answer if he is doing something wrong.
There are a lot of people complaining about that, i see everytime online people with this issue

We're fully doing this again I see.

It's true some companies keep things up to date for free. Other companies just drop all support for older products. Still others do a new version update, which is paid.

Of late, I've noticed the WUP has got a much better reputation because of the behaviour of other companies (eg the Soundwide ones) who are known for dropping all support for their older products. Also, many find they get Waves updates effectively for free when they crossgrade to a bigger bundle in some cheap promotion.

You're not forced to like it of course, but it's a myth that Waves are some renegade bad guys who like to lure in prey with free goodies you are forced to update multiple times for eye-watering sums, whereas everyone else supports and updates their products to the latest OSs for free for life.

As for their pricing - yeah, it's kinda silly but they're far from alone there either. IK multimedia are trying to convince me that the value of their Total Studio bundle is €12,223.00. I will currently save €12,123.00 by crossgrading for €99.99. Obviously this is absurd, describing theoretical list prices that nobody on the planet will ever have paid. It's just one of those things you shrug at and move on.

FWIW - Waves' Submarine is currently $25 and that's totally worth it. Brilliant subharmonic generator that tracks melody perfectly and pretty much glitch free.

I don't think IK multimedia will ever take a cent from me for their software, better and more user friendly alternatives out there for my taste

Come on! 4x oversampling.

OK, more on topic: As I don't want to aquire another hype plugin during some GAS I was re-evaluating some of my plugins to see where I am at to be able to make more cleverer decisions when the new shiny thing comes along with an unresistable price tag.
And I re-found: Infitrator2.
Actually I was lusting for some "better" saturation/distortion and compressors.
And dang, I found some pretty sick and cool sounds with it. Very colored compression and peak taming. I applied the Audio Envelope to the Drive knob of the Distort module.
Something I saw Dan Worrall (Mr. Mega-Tutorial!) doing with Saturn2.
I thought that one day I will explore this and today is that day.

Dunno if Devious Machines will do a BF thingy or similar. But these are my BF tips. For now. :hihi:
