Hmmm, GAS got the better of me and I grabbed these with double PA coupons, so $13 total. But I'm underwhelmed. Been messing with
Phaser, Ring Modulator, String Filter, Frequency Shifter but not getting anything musically that I can already get, but better, from other plugins.

Will still need to check out the vocoder and see how it measures up against FL Studio, Arturia, and Waves.

And what's up with the slogan "DSP guru" MRB? Seems the coder has a background in the analog worlds but is new to DSP and exclusive to CA, 😂. Bit of false marketing, eh!?

Any success and ideas you can share with these plugins?

I tested them over the weekend, I quite like the aesthetic but nothing I didn't already have functionally. Apart from the Vocoder, once I got it routed properly then it's pretty good, way richer on the surface than the free ones I've used (fullbucket, Tal etc). Then there's the question, if I use the effect so little that the free ones are fine till now then do I need a posher one? I passed though think they were a good bundle, especially at that price.

I'd rather have the module versions (also some of those overlap with other modules in their Moog Modular bundle but there doesn't seem to be a discount - eg the Bode is the same)

:dog:

Well, he's been just in the business of coding for 40+ years. His text-to-speech system SAM was written in 1980. And he coded for Apple already in the early 1980s, too. Sure, he's a noob to DSP. :hihi:

Everything I have from Cherry Audio coded by Mark Barton (MRB) has an excellent sound. His stuff is exceptional.
Being ignorant towards this real coding expert shouldn't be presented as a try to debunk false marketing.
If I see anything from Cherry Audio marked with 'MRB' I'm instantly interested.

All the marketing graphics show these modules together in a rack. Is this a multi-effect rack bundle? Or just a set of individual effects processors?

it seems like a rack in the marketing pictures, but are individual effects.

Yep, they are separate plugins.

If you own the standalone effects do you get a discount for the modules?

I have the effects. The module bundle is showing for $34.50 for me.

You are confusing speech synthesis with audio DSP. AFAIK he was a speech synthesis pioneer who developed the very early computer (glitchy) speech stuff. Very cool back then. Modern speech synthesis is 99% indistinguishable from real human speech. If he was involved in the modern stuff then he is also a speech synthesis guru imo. But since he recently moved into audio DSP and only has a pedigree with Cherry you cannot really say he is an audio DSP guru based on that. It would be just as incorrect as saying a Pascal programmer is a C++ guru soon after getting into C++. So there is that. But what matters is how it sounds, and I was a bit underwhelmed.

The drive in the units do not behave like a good drive, say like Blamsoft or PA Elysia Karakter, two that ARE very good. The Rackmode goes from barely anything into distortion as one example.

Tough crowd...

No, he is not! Speech synthesis is just such a complex DSP area that most coders can‘t wrap their head around it…
