Sustain pedal for Console

When running Console as a VSTi in Cubase SX, is there any way to make the sustain pedal work as in Cubase? That is, to make Console interpret the sustain pedal as a arrestment of a held note instead of interpreting it as a CC which have to be routed to some parameter in some synth which would take care of the this itself.

For example, if I load z3ta+ in Cubase as a free VSTi, Cubase interprets the sustain pedal as if I'm holding the key down - there's no need for any modulation (or support for modulation) from the sustain pedal to some sustain value within z3ta+. If I press the sustain pedal Cubase simply holds the note that I've pressed on the keyboard and sends that arrested note to z3ta+.
However, if I would load z3ta+ within Console it seems like I would need to route CC64 (the CC of the sustain pedal) from Cubase to Console and from Console to z3ta+, and that z3ta+ would need to route CC64 to some parameter in the synth (for example, envelope release) that would make the sound "longer".
Isn't there some way of just making Console interpret the sustain pedal as a arrestment of the held key in the keyboard? There are VSTi synths that I cannot do a modulation between CC64 (sustain pedal) and some parameter in the synth (for example amp envelope release), because some synths don't have very many parameters to modulate. In those cases it would seem that I cannot use the sustain pedal for sustaining notes.

Any ideas? It would be great to be able to do this, because then I could just load an instance of Console as an instrument in Cubase SX and do a lot of my work in that nice modular environment instead of in Cubase's dreadful mixer ;).

Thanks!

i made a plugin that makes use of the sustain pedal, but it was for a completely different purpose (to turn the pedal change into a note message for triggering things in eXT) and so is not of use to you here

however, in a week's time when i've finished my assignments, i'll be able to make you something that may help if you still need it. hopefully someone has some more suggestions tho! :D
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
