A site for old installers?

The current version of a plugin
(Vst or Vsti) sometimes doesn't
run on your os or crashes depending on how old it is, wheras an old version still
would. But very often you can't get older
versions any more.
Is there a site where you could download
old versions? Or maybe just make it available here with a download link.
I suppose it would be legit, you buy
a plugin, get a serial number and install
an older version.
The question is whether an old version
would still accept a new serial number?
I have two examples as far as I am concerned.
Scuffham S-Gear, the old trial version some years ago worked, the current does not.
Relab LX 480 essentials, some issues with Reaper, it crashes sometimes and I read that an older version might work.

It is usually not legal for others to distribute software, most licenses don’t allow that unless you have a permission from the original developer.
You have to ask the vendor if they can provide you with an old installer.
Or develop the recommended habit of archiving all your software installers!

I see no fundamental reason to hide the old installers. You could try to find the directory where installers are stored, for instance, ARVerb Room plugins are available in https://arverb.com/dl/

If that doesn't work, contact the developer. You could also try to use the latest version download link and replace the version numbers in it with older versions. The web archive (https://archive.org/web/) doesn't archive installers, but may contain old links that are still valid.

‘Old installers’ sounds like a euphemism for KVR’s less youthful posters. Such as myself.

Well, there is. If older installers are, for example, 32-bit only, or not compatible with newer OS's, or contain bugs which have been fixed by newer versions, then it doesn't really make much sense to distribute them. The worst case would be that customers complain about the lack of compatibility, or even the plugin not working, if they happen to have downloaded an older installer, for whatever reason.

I think the reasonable recommendation has been given: Contact the developer, ask for an older installer.

OP, have you tried checking the Relab site lately, or asking them about old installers? They accidentally took them off the site during a redesign, but put them back up when I emailed them about it.
A well-behaved signature.

If you buy a pre built PC these days, they don't come with a DVD drive anymore anyway... had to buy an external DVD burner to be able to install a few older games I still have on DVD.
