Just wondering if anyone else can confirm the following causes Sandman Pro to crash.

1. Set sample rate to 96000Hz
2. Insert on new track
3. Increase "wow" to anything above 0%
4. Click on "Sleep"

Steps 3 and 4 can be reversed and the crash still occurs. Crashes do not occur when the sample rate is lower than 96000Hz.

I've contacted Plugin Alliance support, but they don't support Reaper.

Thanks in advance :)

Cannot reproduce in REAPER. Latest version. I tried with my interface at 96 kHz, and I also tried it at 48 kHz with FX chain oversampling at 96 kHz. Wow at different settings up to 100%.

Don't forget to run it as a dedicated process so it doesn't take REAPER down with it, and you might be able to figure out the issue.

Bandlab is free, as is some past version of Tracktion Waveform. Good to have installed to test plugins on. Also there are VSThost apps.

Oh yeah, crashed for me too. Ran for a few seconds then took Reaper with it. Out of curiosity/for a giggle I ramped up to 192khz and it ran fine (well, at least for a couple of minutes until I got bored). This was using the laptops audio, I'll play more later when I can get my interface plugged in.

What? They have a list of specific DAWs they support now?

Supplemental: It crashes Abelton Live Intro 10 too at 92KHz. Same methology.

Thank you for checking. I get the same crash in other hosts too. But it seems to work fine in Reaper if I run it at 48khz and oversample to 96khz. I'm on Windows 10 with an Intel i7-10700K.

Works for me too at 192khz in Reaper. Well, it doesn't crash. After more testing, I don't hear the "wow" or "saturate" parameters effect on the audio no matter the sampling rate.

Yeah, their support told me they support:
Pro Tools 12.8 & Higher
Apple Logic Pro X
Ableton Live 10
Steinberg Cubase 9.5+
Studio One 4+
Universal Audio Luna.

They don't support REAPER?! Huh.

Anyway, thanks for the report. I'll look into it right away.

Not officially, I guess. They do say, "While the above DAWs are the ones we test on, we do strive to make our products work in all DAWs that support VST2.4/VST3, AU, and AAX."

Thank you for looking into it. If you need any more information, please let me know.

I was able to spot the problem. Yes, the filter for the tape noise was spitting out NaNs, but only at 96 kHz. Very strange! Anyway, I'm sending in the patch to PA right now.

Hello, Michael
Would you have any plan to add more color themes to your older plugins (like Sandman, Dent, Fault, etc)?
The very hard black/white contrast make them sometimes quite hard to read, while newer plugins (like Silo, LofiAF) are much easier on the eye...

Thanks very much for the quick response. :) I'm not sure if it is related or if anyone else is able to reproduce it, but I'm not hearing the "wow" or "saturate" parameters effect on the audio no matter the sampling rate. This is true even at extreme settings.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Plugin Alliance has posted the fix yet.
