Hey benjamind! Pianoteq 8 has a physically modeled guitar. Apparently it does everything from classical to 12 string to electric. Your wait is over! :D

Sorry IK. You snooze you lose.

Great guitar demos by the eternally great Piet De Ridder (AFAIK these are all the nylon guitar - the blues demo above is virtually amped)

Note however - these are single (occasionally double) note demos, no attempt to do chords.

Do you mean strumming? The nylon example has chords but no strumming.

Yes, sorry I meant strumming. Sounds great for what it can do though.

This is why I'm having my daughters learn piano and not guitar.

Sounds nice. I still think IK has something up their sleeve, and my guess is they will probably release next year to get some of the market share, since it is saturated with sample based solutions.

But now "Guitarteq" has come into being, it might be enough to put some additional pressure on IK to deliver the third, final and, for some some - the most anticipated, piece of the MODO set.

Congrats on forging a musical home! But better hide your daughters from Lari Basilio, a law degree to make dad happy, with guitar to fall back on

I play both keys and strings, the keys these days are beyond awesome of course, but will always lack a certain passion of expression and the close proximity vibrations that come from acoustic guitars and the mooooooooooving of the air in front of the amps. :hyper:

If I could only master one, it would be the portable wooden thing without a cord or screen.
But really hope it never comes down to such a choice :scared:
Cheers

Sounds pretty realistic to me.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

YMMV but for me, a guitar that can't be strummed still doesn't give me what I want. So I'll wait for someone to do it right. So far, no one has. Music Labs is the closest for me but even that has its flaws.

Totally agree. There's always this concentration on widdly-widdly, but in the real world (in pop and rock for sure) 90% of geetar is rhythm, and that's the issue.

Why couldn’t you sequence strumming on it? Just stagger the notes of a chord out depending on how fast you want the stroke to be.
