I've been seeing this comment a lot, not just here but on other forums and social media as well such as this from their Facebook group:

So a few days ago I sent Parawave an inquiry through support and asked if there was anything I could pass along to help calm the fears of some users. You know something like "we're still working on Rapid, the future is bright" etc....

Instead, in their first response all I got was a meme with no other text:

A subsequent response was just as snarky and ended with "you'll eventually get your update" (I don't need or want an update I would just like to know if the company is still supporting their product in case any stability issues should pop up). They did say that support for Rapid is continuing but their quite frankly surprising remarks have kind of put me off this company.

Great synth but pissy attitude......

Were they always sour like that with replies and people? I have a vague recollection that few years ago the dev was around here and answering and much nicer? Of maybe my memory is wrong...

If it’s true and they are really active and cooking something for Rapid ( and I hope they are still alive & supporting it, I love Rapid and I think it's one of the best latest modern monster synth) answering like that to customers and people is surely a good way towards commercial suicide.

Just a heads up, Rapid got an update today.. Not a big one, but they mentioned a big one is coming soon. VST3 was the main thing added. They also added a cool graphical element that you can toggle on and off. Makes the synth have a "glow" effect. You can see all the updates here.

Rapid is NOT abandonware, those who keep shouting that, please stop and be cool.

I'm not saying they were nice to some of the answers & replies, but stop pretending it's an abandoned synth.

Additions:
VST3 Support.
Preset Browser: Right arrow key loads the currently selected preset.
Routing: Insert/Remove Routing Entries.
OpenGL Capability Test, to get information about the used graphics driver, in case of problems with GPU Renderer mode.

Changes:
Removed framerate options. This is now adaptive.
Lastly saved or loaded preset locations are now memorized seperately.
Moved the macro +Route drag icon to the right of the knob to avoid overlap.
Changed preset information and MIDI import dialogs to internally managed dialogs.
Preset browser information is only shown when hovering over entries and holding ctrl or command key.

Fixes:
Tooltips setting was not saved.
Presets with # character in their name couldn't be marked as favorite.
Reduced OpenGL surface slowdown in DAWs that couldn't handle multiple open accelerated UI instances at the same time.
Improved Glitch time jump declick.
Adjusted sample accuracy of Glitch sequences for high PPQ values.
Improved smoothing for Multiband Saturator gain modulatiom.
Routing selection behavior on load, resize and reopen.
Don't grab keyboard focus on layer button label click.
Various DAW compatibility additions.

Visual:
Dynamic colour tint for editor windows and source browser theme.
HDR bloom effect added. Normal and Fancy mode.

I am grateful that
1) they have shown us they are still alive
2) vst3 (it now goes back in my prime time plugin set)
3) (forgot what the third one was)

Looking forward to the larger update. (Of course I suspect this update was released to show they are alive just before a black friday sale

)

Please may I ask Parawave to post updates/news, or any bit of communication on much more regular time frame. Leaving us in the dark causes a LOT of discomfort.

id rather have the dev be a dick if the codebase is great. when i demoed it seemed the most performant and best laid out synth ive used. its 50% off now.

Looks great to me on my mac. I definitely wouldn't hesitate being that its 50% off now.
