As someone who don't know much about Vanguard 1, can someone tell me what exactly is Vanguard. Is this a synth or a rompler? If it's a synth why it has such a reputation? And is it worth buying Vanguard 2 for $79? (I already have Pigments and Serum)

Yeah, without knowing Vanguard 1 and without a demo, it might be hard for you to judge about the benefit...

So seeing that Vanguard 2 is now live, I'm assuming this means that disputes have been cleared up? I don' expect you to answer that, btw. Regardless, I hope so because I immediately bought it and I'd hate to find out you aren't getting properly compensated for your work.

Will there be an option to change skins on this at some point? The default one is not too great imho.

Yes, it uses same skin format as Nexus, so if you are Nexus owner just copy all the skins over, or make your own.

It's a VST with a gritty/nasal sound.

just a thought.... purchased V2 yesterday and it was causing Live to hang, contacted reFX support and they were absolutely brilliant, within 8 hours a fix was published. I've never experienced that kind of speed and excellence. Normally it's 1. something you've done 2. someone else's software 3. we'll fix it somewhen.

If you want value for money personified reFX certainly is worth a thought.

Since they have trademarks for the name Vanguard, they could have made it downward compatible without reusing your old source code. There are special tools for reverse engineering software and these produce bit accurate results. But in the end I think it was cheaper to license the old code.

I updated to Vanguard 2 and now in every track I ever made with Vanguard 1 the sounds are not working? I thought this is full backward compatible? This shit kills many tracks?

EDIT:
I uninstalled Vanguard 2 and reinstalled the old 1 version, now all sounds working fine. So, Vanguard 2 is NOT backward compatible!
