This is a really cool and different take on comp/limiting/clipping distortion. As usual this is a stellar sounding plugin. If you have existing Newfangled Audio plugins it a no brainer price.

$29 for me. It took me zero seconds to make the decision to purchase after trying it for less than 10 minutes. I love this developer.

^ same.

I like it, but have problems with abnormal high cpu useage on my system. The dev said that they had more reports and are investigating. Let's hope that they fix it soon.

Haven’t heard the examples yet, but the concept sounds very intriguing. Huge fan of Eventide and newfangled audio. It says it’s $39 for me. Curiosity alone dictates I demo this.

So its a distortion plugin?
all the best

excellent sounding, very fast to get around on. no brainer purchase!

Good grief, this is an outstanding plug-in!! I've been a fan of Eventide and Newfangled Audio and I was confident that this was going to sound really good. It doesn't disappoint. First thing I did was to slap it on a drum bus and it brought some fairly lo-fi drums to life. I had an electronic kit layered on top of real drums and it added serious punch and thickness.

Next up was some synth bass courtesy of Vital. Being able to morph between compression, limiting and distortion provides some unique harmonics and the distortion has a nice, crunchy finish that gives my bass line some bite. I've found that this plug-in is especially useful with wavetable synthesis. I imagine it's pretty sweet on vocals as well. I definitely give it two thumbs up!! :tu: :tu:

Forward thinking stuff as usual from Newfangled Audio. Great sounding, fast in use and awesome cross grade price :)

Downloaded and played with it for 40 minutes. These are my first impressions:

1. For the first 2 minutes a bit scary/unfamiliar GUI design but after less than 5 minutes it makes total sense.
2. In fact it's an exceptionally well thought out GUI design. After a few minutes of testing, the RADAR display made so much sense. It is a great idea visually tying together these "3 levels of compressions". I never bought Klevgr.'s Korvpressor but I remember seeing some demo videos when it came out. Probably that was the last time I've seen a new approach to compressor GUI design that made this much sense.
3. The sound of Invigorate is very "musical" even when pushed to extremes. At modest settings it's not far from neutral/linear but with more aggressive settings it has got some "analogue" character to it (when I say analogue I mean non linear/weird and characterful in a good way). It's a great sound.
4. There is another complex dynamic shaping tool I find very useful (and easy/fast to interact with) from ADPTR AUDIO, it's called SCULPT. It is absolutely insane what a micro level of control I got from using Invigorate in tandem with Sculpt. Earlier to get just half of this level of control over dynamics one had to spend way over $5000 on hardware and the settings were still not recallable. Insane times.

Anyway, I'll play a bit more with it before buying, but I think I could squeeze some good mileage out of this.

Finally: me personally, for the actual usability and sound quality, I find the $29 loyalty upgrade/crossgrade price very reasonable. :tu:

My 2 cents

Am I wrong in thinking that Overdrive should be in the centre and Limit off to the right so you can morph between compression and distortion and not compression and limiting ?? Seems a weird choice to be able to morph comp/limit limit/distort but not comp/distort

Or a different layout where going from bottom to top goes from compression to limiting and right to left does the distortion

Awful gui and weird controls. This takes too much effort and playing around to make it not sound distorted.

Same here. I have all their plugins. With this one, you’re either going to have to use the mix knob a lot of spend some time with a reference compressor you know (I always judge other compressors against FIRCOMP2 and lately using plugin doctor to discover the EQ curve and apply that pre compression with an EQ) in order to discover how it behaves in a way I am accustomed to. I use FIRCOMP because for me my frequent use of it makes the output predictable. Doing that, I was able to get some pretty good results without even using the tone shaping tools of Invigorate.

My conclusion is that it’s pretty good, but is it BETTER than using tools you may already have? Perhaps. The morph parameter would be challenging to implement using a standard macro control mapped across multiple parameters IMHO. It’s 4.4ms of latency and does use a bit insignificant amount of cpu on my Mac i9. I do view it more as a creative tone shaping tool at the moment. Would I have bought it without the loyalty upgrade? Probably not.
