Unless you tick the "gift" option (which is unchecked by default), it will default to activating the Bitwig/upgrade license right away when you purchase from Bitwig's site.

Glad I didn't get back to Bitwig and decided to wait and see what tricks they pull.

I do think the UX would be better if, during the purchase process, they customer is asked if they would like to have immediate activation..

..but this is how upgrade plan purchases from the Bitwig site have behaved for a very long time. Nothing new, no post-spectral suite trickery, I remember this from, like, 2 upgrade plans ago.

So what happens if you are only part way through your plan with maybe 9 months to run? Will it automatically activate and scrub out your remaining months and replace with one full year? Or will it add it onto what you already have? Could you buy three years of upgrades in one go and not have to worry for three years?

It adds to the existing time. So if your current activation is good until June 23, and you buy now and activate, it will then be June 24

Also, if you use the 'gift' option, then you can get an update serial # without it being activated... some weird way to go about it.
