RapidComposer v4.5b12 is available!

Working hard on the new update to be released on December 5th... Things look good! Please report any issues you find.

An interesting idea from magicmusic: it is possible to create a "CC only" phrase, which includes only a dummy note with 0 velocity, but may contain several CC lanes, and can be moved around in the track, saved in the library, etc.

Improvements:

• Track variation parameters (e.g. Expression) can be edited using the new curve editor also used for MIDI CC editing
• No MIDI event created for notes with velocity 0. This lets you create "MIDI CC only phrases" that has just a dummy note.
• Experimental feature removed: drawing phrases by line or freehand
• Fixed: midi CC's were not reset at the beginning of playback
• Fixed: the default value of MIDI controllers is set to a sensible value (e.g. center for pitch bend, pan, balance)

can't seem to draw in modulation.. it draws, but, on mouse release it's blank..

seem you get same problem as i. solution when switch from note add to controller draw you need click on the arrow then back on the pencil then it work. maybe can do a automatic mode switch.

keep also in mind notes can have independent controller . you need deactivate a note to draw for all

I wonder if we are far away, nor not too far away, from having the Idea Tool be able to work only upon a defined area of the timeline?

if your phrase is to long and you use the scroll bar in the phrase editor to lengthen the view, then the draw mode stops where it was at the shortest point. You can't draw past that to the new view length.

It's great that you're asking people to report issues and that you're ready to work on new ideas but could you please fix the current issues with the mutator and finally get us midi learn working in the mutator like you mentioned you would before.


(I expected that MM would be more useful after the all the efforts I spent with it.
Anyway I'll get back to it when other tasks are finished.)

The overlapping of notes is a big problem especially when you're trying to randomise chord progressions.

As you know from previous conversations in the forum I'm not the only user that would like to get more out of midi mutator.

So would appreciate it if we could get this this sorted.

Hi,

Probably I need the proper usage explained to me.

Using RC v4.5b13, I have attempted to draw Pitch Bend in a phrase, like a sine wave as illustrated:

When I let go of the mouse button, the sine wave just disappears!

My expectation would have been for the drawn sine wave to have been captured as a Pitch Bend curve. (?)

Once we have a curve of cc data entered, is there a way to keep the curve and

a) copy it to another cc # ?
b) simply change the cc # from the current one to a different one ?

it's dependent on the snap and grid size.. make them smaller and see if that works..

One thing that crosses my mind would be to have Snap/Grid for the cc pane be separate from Snap/Grid for the Note pane (e.g. separate settings in the top-bar area of the cc pane).

I don't know if it's worth the extra effort, or even if others would want that separation, but it did quickly occur to me!
