Nothing to stop you using multiple instances but sampling longer intervals will not do the magic you think as the learning will average out short time effects. Better to use multiple instances working on different sections.

It's not that it produces a different curve from one section, e.g. verse, chorus, to another, rather that within the same small section of a track it will produce different results based around the specific 6 or so seconds it samples, so according to that logic one would have to break an instrument track down into multiples of 6 second sections. So I would argue there really should be a way to sample larger sections or whole tracks. If it's correcting for unpleasant resonances or suchlike, then these ought to remain consistent over entire tracks.

Yeah, there's no doubt that the group unmasking feature has a significant effect, and can either do a decent job on certain material or bring some things to light which could be manually adjusted. I found that on well-mixed material it can still cut some very specific frequencies to increase clarity, which is interesting. I just think it could work near perfectly if there were more choice in how the analysing works.

I have smarteq, maybe I should test it more often just to compare.
It's actually a good idea to test it on every track of a complete mix to find out what it does.
I am going to do that, it could be done easily and quickly, maybe even a video,I will let you know

Why don't you just create your own profiles from your favourite reference tracks ?

I have two of their products. I bought them to use for times when I am lazy or need to work quick.. But for neither of them, one being Smart EQ 3 have they added any new profiles.
