What a real instruments are used in this old children's song?

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

I'm not very good at recognizing a real instruments but I need to use them on my new track that I plan to do (hardstyle or something like that).
I only recognizes the trumpet and flute, but what other instruments can be heard, of course, apart from the percussion elements?

As I said, I want to do something like in this track below and integrate the live instruments into the hardstyle atmosphere.
I like that they used of a violin in this track and the implication of folk music. :D

This sounds like a small orchestra with several percussion instruments.
I can hear a bass clarinet, xylophone, tuba...
But I'm not sure what specific instrument you're after, so it'd be great if you could provide other examples for us to hear.

In the timestamp of that second video, that sounds like a (bad, IMHO) synth strings patch.

As Ciperlone said, it's all orchestral instruments, various. In the first video I'm also hearing flutes, trumpets and maybe an oboe.

The second video is a sampled string quartet playing the Fawlty Towers theme tune.

You forgot the rubber ducky, the scissors and the human voice imitating a dog.

But wait a minute: what's the instrument right at the beginning in the background of the flute?
I've often heard that sound in Czech fairytales before but I cannot identify that instrument.

Here's a link that illustrates how to play the music for video 2:

Is it a vibraphone sound in the background of the flute's scale sequence at 2 sec.? I still wonder. :phones:

Why not abandon this "hardstyle" nonsense and just make some music with orchestral instruments?

I mean, look at those 3 guys in that D-Bomb video you posted. They are all idiots. Why would you want to be like them? Not for the girl, because you know she's not with any of those losers.

Now look at this guy. He sold 200 million records and you can bet he got lots of high-quality tail.

Hey jamcat: what's the missing instrument? Can you tell us? How can I make orchestral music on my computer if there's an instrument missing? :D

I partially agree to your judgement. We need to relearn how to play real instruments as well. If we only type in MIDI notes on computers we'll miss out on a lot. Oh, how I wish I could afford a real saxophone or a trumpet but they're so expensive and you need to handle them with care, maintain them. Recorders and guitars are more affordable but they sound less good...

All these classical orcherstral instruments are represented in the General Midi standard. You can hunt down a giga free soundfont containing all of them. Play with it, get familiarized with how instruments sound.

What's missing? Reconstruct the score, instrument by instrument. Then you'll find out.

It's probably the vibraphone. Bert just wants to keep it his own secret or he also doesn't know what the missing instrument is. :D

None of those?
Marimba sounds too woody, Glockenspiel way too bright, and the other 2 may sound somewhat similar but still different in my opinion. I btw knew all of those 4 - they're nothing new to me.

It could be a large chime rod that they hit with a soft mallet. :help:

Vibraphone has some sustain. So it was imho a xylophone (wood, not metal)

Hmmn, now this makes me really want to flip through the few orchestral plugins I have and find out about this sound. It's definately a rare sound and it might also be from a less common instrument. I've heard about such chimes and effect instruments that they just used for film music or cartoons in the old days... The interesting thing is that in the context the sound is set in it almost has to originate from a real instrument because even the 2 kinds of dog barks most likely came from recordings of non-synth sources (both dogs' and human vocal cords).

May I respectfully disagree? The xylophone is fairly common.
