THIS is the secret miracle of the EZ guitars!

My wife bought me an EZ-EG for xmas and let me play with it a bit over the weekend to test if it shipped okay and if it suited my needs. Some of the tracking peculiarities (particularly with un-picked hammer-ons) annoyed me, but after reading this little secret I wrote a Sysex->Note message converter with MIDI-OX scripting! :hihi:

However, I had to pack it back up 'til Dec 25, so I'll share it then (when I can test more). But believe me, this is going to transform the EZ instruments into a new weapon of mass destruction! 8)

Will post then...

bucodi has one of these guitars, and asked me to make a little plug-in to automatically generate note-offs for him.

i've not used it with the guitar myself - i've never even seen one! but i've been told it's effective and useful for the required purpose, so i'll post it here too...

[it is designed for energyXT- it requires a modular host capable of sending multiple midi paths to a synth; this plugin only outputs the note-off messages, and so needs to be connected to the synth input alongside a direct midi connection]
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

And here I am :)
I can assure you that you definitifly need this plugin if you want to play soundmodules and synth's with you EZ. It is true that when you touch the plate it stops all notes, but if you want to lay down some strumming chords you just need something that stops the notes for you.
And that is exactly what the plugin of haydxn does for you.
It is a great in indispensable tool, I couldn't live without it.
Thanks again haydnx (pm me your address and i'l send you a botle of champaign :)).

PS : If you use it, don't forget to wire it as sidechaine, don't know if that's mentioned on the side

In the Posting screen, just hit the button beneath the title. Add the image URL and hit again.

That brings up a good point: in the EG manual it made mention of the bridge plate... but there is none on the EZ!

I imagine that I'm going to be making an EZ-*G user page on my site, so hit me with the facts, people: what are the differences between the EG and AG? I'll start...

EG has a whammy bar: AG has none! ;)

eg is based on electric ag is based on acoustic
hence the whammy difference 8)

I'm pretty sure the demo songs on there are different (I believe the EG has more?). Maybe the sound patches are different too, but I'm just guessing.

The metal plate is actually on the back of the neck, I think.

I got the EG version for a couple of weeks. Its ok, but we decided not to keep it for our band. Just a little small and cheap feeling.
