Ample Slide crashing frequently in Pro Tools

Hi All-

I'm brand new to Ample Slide Lapsteel. I'm having a devil of a time using it in the latest version of PT. It crashes my session frequently, even when I'm not working with the track that's it's inserted. Out of nowhere it will overload my system and crash a session. Even when I freeze the track, it still wreaks havoc. It's a great tool but I'm losing patience with it. I'm wondering if there is a better way to install the samples or something. All my other plugins run fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mac Mini M1, 16 gigs of RAM
