hi,
I wonder if there are any free and good brass samples or soundfonts for pop/rock music (non-orchestral) on the net. They seem to be very rare. The only one which I found useful is the "Bolland Brass Section" soundfont.
Is there anything better?
bye
Chris

Bump.
This was asked a couple of years ago. I'm looking for some good sounding big band brass. Anyone know of good ones out there, sound font or regular samples?

17years later, the Boland Brass is, to my knowledge, still the best free pop brass section available,

Rotary is pretty much it, yeah. I do also have the Weresax, Bear Sax and War Tuba freebies, and VSCO Community includes a few as well.

Best trumpet I've yet heard and it's free: https://www.norrlandsamples.com/

It is not free, but nearly, and you get a lot of instruments,

Among them, the saxophones are quite ok,

Uuugh, approximately 2 Gb? This seems to be the most polished and elaboratemixyguy2 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 6:17 am Best trumpet I've yet heard and it's free: https://www.norrlandsamples.com/
saxophone ever. Great - but almost overkill for me!

Just noticed it's an old thread that got bumped recently but it's one of my older sets!
While not free my Marching Band Horn set is very cheap, $2.99 for the Kontakt 4 version and $1.30 for the soundfont. Size is 32 MB each.

Here's the K4 demo:

And just last week, I released free presets for Tracktion Software Novum granular synth that are based on samples from this set:
