I already bought f-em some time ago for the regular price... no regrets here - thought it was worth it and went for it.
But BioTek for 25€ is just one of the most awesome deals ever...

I felt so guilty about those silly prices at JRR,that I bought 2 Biotek licences and an extra F-em license 🌞
No auto tune...

I don't think it is. But it surely could use some CPU efficiency adjustments.

I have an older 2012 Mac Mini, and the fan goes crazy when I use these Tracktion products. Still glad I got them though.

Oops! I accidentally read 2020 Mac mini.

F ‘em is moderately-demanding on my 2020 i5 MacBook pro. F ‘em is a great sounding FM synth and soooooo worth the entrance fee even if you have other FM vsts. I find its GUI more inviting to tweak and develop my own sounds compared to my other FM-capable vsts. I plan on snagging YY’s preset pack before the year is done. I want to enjoy and also de-construct his patches for educational purposes.

Edit: I would love to see/hear a Luftrum and/or The Unfinished preset pack for f’em.

I almost didn't install this after buying it when it was on offer, figured I wasn't too eager to get in to a complex FM synth right now. But then I did install it, and the presets are damn awesome. Ridiculous... I didn't realise this was what I was going to need to make a certain track work. Apparently it is.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

I just saw a scalper deal, probably got it from jrrshop while back for $24 and resell for $30.
Picked it up.
Holy smokes this thing sounds INCREDIBLE! Time to read the manual and dive in deeper. one of the best $30 I ever spent.

Seems even more CPU hog than Pigments tho.

I love this FM Synth, it seems like the answer for my FM synthesis editing dreams but it seems way more cpu hungry than I could imagine.

So I would like to ask, am I the only one having issues using F'em with M1 Mac? It is very cpu intensive, even with the most basic preset it constantly keeps giving cpu spikes. I tried everything, increased latency to 256, limited polyphony to 16 voices (practically being able to play only 4 notes at a time), set multi-core on/off, tested on logic pro X, ableton live and bitwig.

Unfortunately cpu is too high and I don't like the feel when you play, there is a lack of dynamic or there's something strange with the velocity settings?!

I’m on M1 Max - cpu seems reasonable but you definitely need multicore off as if it’s anything like u-he multicore it’s probably designed to work on Intel not M1

I'm a 2010 clunker macpro 12 core 3GHz Xeon dinosaur but never any issues with complex poly patches on f'em. AU in Reaper.

This is really the most cpu hungry synth i ever seen (although i use it with disabled multithread lol, but nevertheless).
Although concept is great, but clearly absence of optimization investment. (Probably this was considered unnecessary by adding multithread support). But, even if with single core mode, it's doubtly that such simple patches require such calculations. That i guess why it was at sale with enormously big discount.

Are you sure the patches are so simple? Quite a few of them sound deceptively simple if you don't use additional controls like the XY pad etc.

What is an example of a CPU intensive factory preset? Or, THE most CPU intensive preset?
