Hi.

My problem is that when I use NI Battery to create a basic beat, it jumps and cracks when I try to play the song. I only have this problem with NI Battery, no other VST instrumenst or my HW synth.

Anyone know why this is, and how to fix it?

SPECS:

cubase sx 2
terratec dmx 6fire
1,5GHz
768MG DDR

Thanks!

I have the same problem. It got worse recently when my harddisk with the drumsamples went bad, so I think it has something to do with disk streaming or something.

Have you enabled 'Old Plugin Behavior' in the Devices > Plugin Information window?

Not that I'm experiencing any problems, but what is this supposed to do?
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

My guess would be that it makes your plug-ins sound like Abe (Grandpa) Simpson. "Back in MY DAY, we had plug-ins... but we didn't call 'em PLUG-INS, WE called 'em 'installable interchangable modular devices'... and we darned well LIKED 'em! You kids these days, you just don't know how ta zzzzzzzzzzzzz..."

Battery 1 has had issues with sx2 straight from the get go... Slight incompatibility, I suppose. Checking Old plugin behavior makes Battery 1 run at an old plugin standard, fixing the pops, clicks, and timing issues.

Cheers.

Hm, thanks. But what does it actually change? Does it take some functionality away?

I had the same problem. After quantisizing a beat you can hear very annoying clicks and other noises. :x
You can hear it very clear with a TR-808 kit.

After setting Battery 1 to 'Old Host Behaviour' the problem is gone. :)

No functionality is taken away. All I really know is that it runs at a lower VST standard. Battery is an ancient plugin, and the new VST Standard interfers with this somehow.

I occasionally get a stagger (very slight pause before a beat plays) (esp. if two notes are set to play simultaneously) and flams play that aren't programmed in -- comes and goes as I'm building lines, but eventually settles in for consistent (but unprogrammed) behavior
could this be the same cause?

actually I kind of like it -- sort of humanizes some beats -- just hard to predict along the way

Definetly wrench. Worth a try atleast, and if you like the 'humanization' of it... You can't always just turn it off.
